I can't wait for this to come out, healthcare in america is a total joke.  So ridiculous that the government is down his throat for brining 9/11 rescue workers to cuba for treatment.

Who cares if it is cuba, they were willing to give the people the care they needed when the US wouldn't

Haha, I love this guy, warp and edit what people say and different stories to fit his own vision.  But this is America and he's allowed to do it.

I guess we should have socialized healthcare.  You know, like England?  That way it takes me 1 year to get a flu shot and hospitals can take 3 months to care for a person.  I read (I forget where so take this with a grain of salt if you'd like) that infections are really really really really really really REALLY high in English hospitals.

I have a lot of British friends and they have no problem with the healthcare at all.  I think that is somewhat of a myth that socialized healthcare means poor healthcare.  The French, British and Canadians all seem to have it figured out.  All with free universal healthcare and the citizens of those countries all have a longer life expectancy than U.S. citizens

One of my teachers showed me an article a couple weeks ago, it said Michael Moore already had a 10-15 minute interview the entire time he was filming "Roger & Me." I was glad he was exposed.

Yeah, you're right. He only really made one movie that enlightened me on anything, and that was Roger and Me(which was about rampant and hurtful corporate downsizing). Otherwise, pretty much all of his recent works are kind of well...bloated. Like F911. The literally put out a conspiracy theory. I was disgusted, he took BSing to an art form in that movie. Its true the Bush administration sucks, but at least criticize it with some credibility.

As for Universal Health-care, I am not entirely against the idea. Canada for example, has excellent UH. And the US has a very "spineless" health-care system, they will do almost anything the Pharmaceutical companies tell them. If Moore is going to do a movie on something corrupt, he should (but without the BSing) do it on the Pharmaceutical Companies, those guys are incredibly cunning and often dishonest in how they deal their products, and it affect our health-care system and the medical community in a major way.

Michael Moore is just one of the many useful idiots who idolize sadistic torturers Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.

Why didn't Moore bring them to Canada or the U.K.?

We should have a mix of socialized and private healthcare, that way the people who can't afford meds or treatment and have to suffer because of our backwards ass government can recieve treatment for free while people who want to see their own doctor can still do it. Its also a good way to make sure the public sector keeps up with the private sector. Btw, infections are really high here too, you don't here about it though because of our **** media, just like you don't hear about the homeless Iraq War vets.

this guy is absolutely right.. socialism (and yes, Moore is a socialist) is the CAUSE for the problems in healthcare systems

oh, and socialism IS one tiny step away from communism... it never has worked, and it never will.

is that the direction you want to see america going??

soooo...... the fat F*** has now run out of all the cash he earned from his 2 other "documentaries" (that lured money from those less fortunate in the exact same manner as those "evil corporate leaders" he speaks of does), and is now editing a new movie with a shocking truth that he, and ONLY HE knows (but no one else, like profesional journalist) how can anyone still think he does this for the greater good? he has just found another way to milk money from people. so glad i havent wasted a single cent on his movies

So you're saying Canada, for example, is communist?

Hmm, I guess that communism is a good thing then. Canadians are, on average, smarter, live longer, and make more money than Americans.

I wonder if all of the people parroting the idea that socialized healthcare sucks realize the degree to which farming is subsidized in the United States so that everyone can have affordable food.

Why do you think we are the fattest country on Earth?  :D   (Yeah, faulty reasoning, so sue me.)

Of course, part of the reason those other countries can afford socialized healthcare is that they don't constantly piss away their entire national budget on crazy high-tech weapons made by companies with ties to politicians...

I'm a Socialist, but I also think that people should be treated with enough respect and dignity that they are presented the evidence to reach their own conclusions. Moore isn't interested in letting this happen.

Because farmers are amazingly stupid and refuse to change professions. They're stuck in a pefercetly competitive market and cannot and will not EVER turn over a profit in the long run. The only way for them to make money is stop farming. Maybe with slightly less farmers they won't have to be subsidized.  (EDIT)  If farmers weren't subsidized I'd probably be paying 2 cents for a can of corn or 2 bucks for milk instead of almost 4.

EDIT: Here is a link to an article I found about the healthcare system. Sure it is 2 years old but it still holds true today.

well the health care is one thing...

but when he went to windsor ontario and filmed condos to show canadian ghettos it was pretty funny, he did real good research to look up the lowest crime rate in canada and going there.

Or like in "Roger And Me" when he got an interveiw with the owner of the flint michigan plant and he decided not to put it in his film.

Well, that would likely make food more expensive to the consumer though.  And my whole point was that having subsidized farming keeps food relatively cheap...

Yes because we all know Micheal Moore is legit.

And it is a story on what happened to him in England not some techincal analysis on their healthcare.

I guess because the news station is run by someone with an opposing political belief it is therefore 'a waste of time.' Of course we all know how awesome CNN or NBC is and how "fair" Chris Matthews and Ted Turner are.

Michael Moore edits his 'documentaries' so heavily to make people/things look bad that its rediculous. More than half of what it shown on his movies is utter BS.

From BBC News (2002) - The National Audit Office estimated infections acquired by patients while they were in hospital could be killing up to 5000 people a year in England.

From the Health Protection Agency  - Reports of blood stream infections caused by MRSA increased to 7647 in 2003/04

THINGS PEOPLE ALREADY KNOW, BUT ONCE YOU READ IT IN A BOOK OR SEE IT IN A MOVIE YOUR NOT LIKE "PFFF, GEE REALLY CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!" INSTEAD YOUR LIKE "OMG IT'S TEH KOOLEST EVER." IT'S LIKE YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT BUT ONCE YOU READ IT IN A BOOK OR SEE IT ON FILM YOU'RE LIKE EGADS, THIS IS AWSOME!!

For the people calling Micheal Moore an idiot, documentaries don't = truth. "A documentary refers to film or video that explores a subject in a way the public expects to be factual and accurate."

Enjoi!

Do you have proof of this?

I've heard this all before and I havn't seen anything like what you've described in a country with socialized health care (by countrys I mean the rest of the developed world) I think it's just a myth put out by people who really don't know much on the subject.

From BBC News (2002) - The National Audit Office estimated infections acquired by patients while they were in hospital could be killing up to 5000 people a year in England.

From the Health Protection Agency  - Reports of blood stream infections caused by MRSA increased to 7647 in 2003/04

MRSA is a big problem in British hospitals

What does this have to do with universal healthcare?
