hits one of the big selling points of PC's, and how being a mac fan is like being in a fanclub, trying to be cool.shoeman12
I think another selling point too is being able to playgames properally on PC.
[QUOTE="Darth-Caedus"]The price dosn't really mean anything when you are paying for a peice of crap IMO jaydough
That is awesome, and the commercial is funny because it's true. Well, actually it's not very funny, just true.
I don't hate Macs, but I think they're definatly overpriced for the inferior and un-upgradeable hardware. Also, unless my school's Macs just have stuff blocked or something, I can't find ANY system settings. I wouldn't know where to go for setting up a network, I don't even know if there's a command prompt. How can they say how intuitive a computer is when you can't access basic things like this without someone telling you how to?

That might be funny if Macs didn't have a right-click...

They don't unless you buy a 3rd party mouse. The mac Fanboys on the youtube video are totally upset and defensive. And it's true, you're paying for the Apple Logo Tax, over hardware. That's 50% more then a typical laptop just so you can have a apple symbol and join the rest of a culture who believe they are different. I sware, Mac users are like hipsters (not all of them).trubluah(yes, all of them)

Another selling point is that you can actually install OS X on any non apple laptop (almost any laptop). Sorry kidz...[QUOTE="Guppy507"][QUOTE="jaydough"] *pic of pedals*jaydough

I know this all too well (school)... but that argument just doesn't work anymore and it's annoying.

If it's only during working hours, you can still be redeemed to pseud status. It's going to take a lot of hail Marys though.

It wasn't really an argument, it was just a picture utilizing an old internet meme to make a joke.

Aww man...now I have to get the "holy blessing staff" from Father O'Connor
Funny story about Apple computers: My Survey of Western Music professor uses one for all the presentations and material for the class...It crashed a week ago and its still not working so we haven't been able to have a proper lecture ever since.
So much for Apple claiming their computers are pseudo-invincible ultra-fast machines of awesome.
I hope everyone realizes that PC stands for Personal Computer.
As in...my calculator is a PC. Computers are PC's until I hack them.
True that! I like the new ad a lot! It's true. Apple Laptops are way overpriced and they come with nothing but crap!

I like OS-X, I just can't afford Mac's. Thats why I stick with PC's. But, when your employer gives them out... thats another story. :D

They don't unless you buy a 3rd party mouse. The standard Apple mouse has a right click. :|Good advertisement. Macs are indeed overpriced.
I bought my laptop for $900 and if I wanted an equivalent Mac I would of had to pay $1500+. My laptop is great + I can run pretty much anything on it.
We are seeing this type of shift in advertising all over. We are in a recession, and companies are trying to sell more on value. It's a smart approach. People don't care that "Cool guy" uses a Mac while "Fat Nerd" uses PC, or which comes in the more stylish packaging. Most people are trying to get the most bang for their buck. I'm interested in seeing how Apple adjusts to this.
[QUOTE="Solid_Cobra"]They won't adjust. They'll just state that they're still more stylish than PC and that the price you're paying is actually worth it for what you're getting. We are seeing this type of shift in advertising all over. yup, and the "hip kids" will continue to buy them at least here where i live, where the recession isnt as bad
i like that add. it is so true about macs. they are expensive but are great for people that work in hollywood industry. they have video making, web design, graphic design, some other things. PC do have just about the same programs, photoshop, illustrator, dream weaver. i did work in a graphic department for a place that uses photoshop and things they had PC windows. iam2green
That's just a opinionated stereotype. I work at the academy of art university and with all the things I've learned, PC and Mac does the same thing. It's just that Mac has it's own proprietary software (go figure).

I actually see Mac making an advertisement that will typically make fun of the PC/Windows advertisement. Like their recent ad's showing PC counting money for advertisement over bug fixing. We are seeing this type of shift in advertising all over.
