Mike Portnoy Recording With Avenged Sevenfold

That's right folks. Dream Theater drummer, Mike Portnoy is recording some drum tracks for Avenged Sevenfold's new albumafter the death of their drummer back in December.

I for one think that it's cool that MP is doing this. All though I am no a fan of Avenged Sevenfold, it's cool that they brought him in. I think The Rev would be happy.

eh....a7x... They had potential and recorded some pretty creative songs, but their albums seem to be just lame stock rock filler

The Rev was a huge Mike Portnoy fan. OMG :oops:

He will officially become the most talented musician of that band if he does :P

Mike has a passion for playing, so it's good for him. Avenged Sevenfold will also benefit from a great drummer. It's a win-win situation.

This will be pretty interesting. I always liked A7X for actually playing music and coming up with their own strange metalcore style.

What does everyone think about MP going on tour with A7X? I think it's quite a year for Mike, first recording with A7X, Dream Theater opening for Maiden and then getting to go on tour with A7X. Thoughts?
