Military?

I've considered it and was planning on joining either the Army Reserve or the Army National Guard, but lately I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to die for this country over a poitnless war. If we weren't in a war right now I would lean more towards it, but the risk is too high and you only live once.

It's nowhere near as bad as the News makes it seem. Yeah it's dangerous but personally I think the conflict in Northern Ireland was bad, or even walking around in Saint Louis is probably worse. For the most part, the biggest threats are roadside bombs.

If you are stressed enough and desperately don't want to go into a warzone then trust me you will do it given enough thought. You just have to make sure it's deep enough. Personally I wouldn't mind the combat so long as I don't get maimed.

Yeah, you would be disgraced pretty badly by that. I have a DVD about this kind of stuff somewhere... I think it's called Tigerland or something. A guy trying to get other guys out of the army before their training finishes and they get shipped off to viet nam.

You could actually provoke him to get worse with you, or just transfer you. The worst outcome I can think of is him enjoying it and you ending up in a whole new depth of a situation.
