What do you think of this? I think the people are entitled to he land they legally own and the Government should not be able to force them out. It's just like Eminent Domain, it needs to go. Can't link, you know how this place is with html...

"The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, citing restrictions on private developments around dams, says thousands of residences, decks, patios and boathouses appear to encroach on land belonging to the hydroelectric project in violation of federal regulations.

The announcement has triggered panic in the area's lakefront communities and led to a growing battle among regulators, a utility company, land attorneys and the state's congressional delegation. Officials say they are searching for a way to settle the issue without mass evictions."

Sounds like they bought land that wasn't rightfully sold in the first place. With that said since the fault doesn't lie with them they should be given a fair price for their property.

I don't get it, no one in Missouri can afford to live in a lake home.

I'm really curious about the motivation behind this, because the utility company really has no motivation to worry if someone with a boat and dock that sticks out into the water hinders the hydroelectric project, but a private interest like the ones that have solicited such properties in the past might have strong motivation to conspire with people under the hydroelectric project to enforce those boundaries, thus lowering the value and bidding price for the property... I'm just saying maybe it's worth them looking into who was making those previous offers and where they have their hands in this affair.
