Because not enough people watch or care about the show. They're lacking the all-important Jim endorsement of being watched. I honestly didn't even know this show was still on the air.
Considering the fact that he's been trying to solve the mystery of his wife's murder for the duration of the entire show, they have to resolve it somehow.
This is literally the best show on TV. How can it end? Its viewership has continued to rise, and there aren't many shows that can still claim that after seven seasons. I urge them to reconsider.
I LOVED it when it first started, but I over the last few seasons I have forgotten to watch it. I'm kind of glad they're ending it now though, I'm REALLY interested in how Monk solves the case around his wife's death.
The first 3 seasons were great, but after that it got a bit silly and repetitive. Can't say I'm happy it's ending though since it's still a good, despite the decline.
