Most anticipated albums of 2011?

So now that 2010 is almost at a close, I think it is time to look forward to what's to come in 2011.

For me right now, my most anticipated album is definitely the new Cage the Elephant album titled "Thank You, Happy Birthday." The first single off the album, Shake Me Down, is just fantastic and considering how amazing their debut cd was I just cannot wait. They are definitely the most exciting band to debut in the last few years and I just cannot wait to see what great music they make.

Other albums I am anticipating:

New Muse album (Well, possible release here. We'll see what happens)

New Opeth album (Seriously, it is ****** Opeth)

New Them Crooked Vultures album (Another band that debuted in the last few years that shows tons of promise)

We All Bleed by Crossfade (Their debut album was great, but the second one not so much. After hearing Killing Me Inside and Make Me a Believer, I have hope)

New Machine Head album (They go and release their best album yet and then make us wait FOUR ******* YEARS for the next....)

So, what other albums is everyone anticipating?

Lady Gaga's next album. BORN THIS WAY, OH YEAH!

It's not metal screaming music, so nobody has probably heard of it here (:P ) but OAR has a new album coming out in 2011. Can't wait!

RADIOHEAD. I was hanging onto the hope it would be out by the end of this year, but of course, being noncommittal, they've said they're almost done but it'll be out when they're good and ready. I only hope for a 2011 release.

That and Coldplay. Not the huge fan I was years ago, but it should provide a few hours of good listening at least.

Devin Townsend's Deconstruction record. It's supposed to be back to the Strapping Young Lad days in a way, except he's sober and not as mental.

Im looking forward to Cage the Elephant's new album too. I loved their single. Also looking forward to Lupe's new album too. Lasers, i think it's called.

Sum 41 and blink-182 are both supposed to be dropping next year. I can't wait for both. The new Amon Aarth album is exciting as well.

EDIT: And Lupe Fiasco's new album Lasers. I can't believe I almost forgot it.

This isn't confirmed, but there is a strong possibility that Tool will release a new album at the end of 2011. They've been writing together again for a year now. I'm also hoping for a new Karnivool album and a new Porcupine Tree album sometime late next year.

By the way, I was skeptical when you said you were looking forward to a Crossfade album (I don't like either of their first two or that kind of music), but after listening to Make Me a Believer, I'm actually impressed; that's a legitimate progressive rock song, which is risky for a band that has only ever played 3-4 minute cookie cutter songs. If the rest of the album is similar, I will probably buy it.

I have yet to buy a Tool album despite liking a few of their songs. Will have to look out for that I suppose.

And yeah, I LOVED Crossfade's first album and thought it was some of the best in their genre, but their second album just stunk. Now it seems they got their **** together and this time are actually doing something more original. I am really interested to check out that album. Was actually suppossed to come out this year but it kept getting pushed back.

Oh and to another poster, I can't believe I forgot that Blink was putting out a new album. I'll definitely have to check that out.

I think he means that he hasn't heard much regarding their upcoming album recently so he doesn't expect it to be released for a while.

Explosions in the Sky and Radiohead is all I want and need from 2011. This year has been a gift enough for me. I still have around 100 albums from this year I want to hear :PLockedge
