Well, I find it sad because of its meaning, really. Clapton wrote it as a way of coping with the grief of having lost his son (whom the song is about) in a tragic accident. It adds a whole new layer to it for me to know why he wrote the song.

Yeah. I heard the song before hearing about the tradegy, and at that point I was simply like, "Thats a nice, catchy song." Then I read an article about the accident and it took the song to a whole other level for me...
