anyone who says bass just needs to stop chuggin root notes :P
I'd probably say synth only snyth players i've ever seen get into it was FYS's one but they kicked him out and Bodom's keyboard player.
If you mean rythym as in chords, don't most bands usually have the guy on vocal duty strumming a guitar? I love learning new strum patterns because I cannot for the life of me play a complex melody and sing at the same time.
sometimes Bass can be boring in a song .Frieza99That is down to the musician though, guitar and drums can be just as boring if they do basic stuff all the time. I think it depends really, all instruments are capable of doing something interesting, it just depends on the band. You have some instruments like tambourine and triangle but they aren't really widespread and tend to just be used as part of the percussion.
I love playing rhythm guitar, I focus more on that then lead. I always found that a good rhythm section is the meat and potatos of a band, soloists are just flare.
sometimes Bass can be boring in a song .Frieza99So can guitar, and drums. It all depends on the musician. I'm going to have to go with the triangle.
That drummer looks so bored. He should do what the two additional drummers in Slipknot do, have rotating drums, roll about and climb on them. The Drums in THAT song:

The singer looks a bit like Ed Miliband. The Drums in THAT song:

I've played as a pianist, bassist and rhythm guitarist and I would say playing the rhythm guitar is extremely boring compared to the other two.Lonelynight
I was going to say, guitar can be pretty boring depending on the part you're playing. I sometimes wonder, when I see a guitar part that is like a group of four notes followed by a long interval how they manage to make it entertaining on stage. Then again, they usually have the vocalist play those parts.
