Most Brutal Death Scenes in a Movie?

There are so many to choose from, such as the fire extinguisher from Irreversible, being torn apart in Day of the Dead, eye gouge in 28 Weeks (or Days) Later, but the two that really stick out for me are:

1. Original Last House on the Left gut-spilling scene

2. This (Viewer discretion advised yada yada)

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio's drowning in The Abyss.

The most recent remake to I Spit On Your Grave. where the lady has a guy tied up and naked and she chops off his penis with hedge trimmers and picks up the penis and puts it in his mouth.. and all you can see is all this blood pissing out on to the floor (No pun intended)
But then again all the death scenes in that movie are extremely brutal.. watch it and fight out.

In a decent movie with a real plot Scarface is extremely brutal. Faces of Death if you want real gruesomeness or the Saw movies

irreversible fire extinguisher scene is the first to my mind. the overall build up to that scene and the way it was in one take, very disturbing vibe and very realistic onebeelo

One of numerous death scenes in I Saw the Devil There was a scene where a person's limbs were chopped while they were still alive (implied, not shown though. They do show the chopping part when the victim is dead), a guy ripped another guy's mouth while that guy was being tied to a bed, a guy was tortured with another guy hitting the guy's nuts with a hammer (or wrench), the ending scene was both visual and psychologically disturbing given its context.funsohng

I Saw The Devil is a great film.

I'd say in Battle Royale when the teacher kills the second student with that bomb thing.

I was really kind of unfazed by Schindler's List, for whatever reason. I still remember scenes from The Pianist, to this day, some of the images are burned in my brain.

The out-and-out most brutal death scenes I've seen are probably from Cannibal Holocaust, and I covered my eyes or looked away for half of them. Scenes from Pan's Labyrinth gets a nod from me, especially when the Spanish officer kills the boy with the bottle. Not that gory, but the brutality behind it was sickening.

The last rap battle in 8 mile. That was just brutal :cry:

Hmmm, well the torture scene in Resovior dogs is pretty dam brutal and it was one of the 1st mature movies i watched in my teens and when that guy got his ear cut off i cringed.

Also a brutal yet hilarious death was the one of Marvin in pulp fiction.

And most of the death scenes in Apocalypto were dam gruesome and brutal.

Nothing brutal about that. It was just goofy like any typical splatter film.

The entire movie of I Spit On Your Grave, the remake, is brutal.

Nobody said the ending of Raiders of the Lost Ark? Well, I say that one.
