Nice to see balut getting some recognition at the #1 spot, since I've actually eaten it. And yes, it is every bit as disgusting as you'd expect.

Why would you do that? D:
I thought I was brave eating Haggis. Oh me oh my.

Well, for some reason, my dad picked some up at the local asian grocery store. Then after trying some, he egged me on (pun intended) to try some as well.
So basically, I tried it because of peer pressure. My dad was like, "I ate it. Your brother ate it. What are you, chicken?"
Although I suspect that he only got me and my brother to eat it in order to have someone else share in his misery.

One time in high school, we were disecting rats. Anyway, my rat was a female with a full litter of rat fetuses inside it. So my lab partner took a couple of the fetuses and hid them in another dude's sandwich.

WHOA MAN! I mean, I might be able to understand why one might hate Indian (I personally love it), but Mexican? Nachos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas? I know how a lot of it has been Westernized so as not to disgust people, but I hardly see how Mexican can be considered disgusting.
Then again, I've only had Indian food in the West (US and Ireland). Still, you can't let a couple terrible dishes spoil you on an entire country's cuisine. However, I have been to Mexico and their restaurants serve pretty much the same stuff as here, only better and more authentic.
As for my worst, I'm gonna have to say Japanese natto beans. They're really sticky and smell so awful that I can't even try to eat them. My dad says they're as bad as they seem, but my mom really likes them.

Well, I've eaten a lot of Mexican food, and besides the fact that it's overrated honestly it was disgusting (I'm not trying to offend them and I'm sorry if I do.) but I've eaten much better cuisines that's why I say it :)[QUOTE="AlternatingCaps"][QUOTE="6_volts"]Mexican and Indian food.6_volts

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I do have to agree though, that there is much better food to be found elsewhere in the world.

Mexican and indian food is amazing.
The only downside to mexican food is that its not that diverse, mostly different forms of tortilla cooked in different ways. Maybe I just havent the good stuff yet, but I prefer Italian and Thai food. Also I went to Himalyan/nepalese restraunt and it was awesome:D

I dislike it mainly because I hate ground meat, most cheeses, and sour cream. Mexican is way overrated, if it weren't for Taco Bell most people wouldn't even know what it was.
For me, give me some thick, hearty German fare like a cutlet of Schnitzel or a whole Herring, and I'll gulp it down like nobody's business. Chinese and Italian are also favorites.
As for least favorites, I despise Ground Beef as mentioned before, as I hate its texture and I feel it ruins a perfectly good steak. I also hate Pea Soup, my Grandma used to curse at me in German until I ate it when I was a kid. It was green, milky, and had little pieces of Wurst floating in it, it was disgusting. But it was better than being yelled at by an insulted, old, angry German lady.
Speaking of my Grandma, during the Great deppression, she lived in Germany. And every Christmas she and her 3 siblings were each given a rabbit as a gift. They all loved their rabbits, they groomed them, and played with them, and fed them. And then come Easter time, if there wasn't any food or money, they ate the fatest rabbit, which was always my Grandma because she fed it too much. But hey, what are you gonna do? As much as I'd hate to eat my pet, I'd rather it die than me...
I really like how the occident hide itself from the fact that we are eating animals and other lifeforms.
I hope that your steak will haunt you for the rest of your life.
Redgarl
There is no hiding when you crack open an egg and eat a duck fetus. It's hard to pretend that you're not eating animals when you hold an otherwise cute baby duck in your hands...and then take a bite out of its torso.

Like I say often, "At least, they don't hide themself from the truth" unlike occidentals. We are doing this for kids when it comes to Santa to prevent them from losing their innocence. Politician are acting similarly for manipulating us.
You know what an egg is? A hen ovum swimming in rooster sperm... OHHHHH!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!

Yeah, but in all fairness, balut really DOES taste absolutely disgusting. If you want to eat that crap just because it reminds you of death, then go right ahead. Personally though, I'd rather eat my eggs without babies inside them.
EDIT: There's really no defending most of the stuff on that list. I mean, we're talking about stuff like cheese with live maggots crawling through it.

And what do you think of caviar, or fubu, or tarantulas or insects? I can admit you that these kind of foods are maybe disgusting for us, but they exist because some love them. In my book, a cow is one of the most disgusting animal. They sleep and live in feces and you will not dare drink any milk if you knew how it was extract. It's not rare that some excrements get into the giant container while sucking the milk.I was not raising if the food was good or bad, but the occident mentality of ignoring where foods are comming from is pissing me off. Peoples can't admit they are eating animals because they feel better about it. How selfish and ignorant this is. If you read all the line and the american availability comments, you clearly see the writer attitude being identical to what I denonce.
Edit, my sentences are terribly written, but I am too lazy to correct them :P
