What natural phenoma do you think are the most beautiful and awesome, but also very frightening. I'm watching videos of lightening right now. Simply fascinating.

Homo sapiens, frightening creatures. Look what they have accomplished in terms of technology, yet are also the most destructive species on Earth.

Hurricanes for me, love going out during them, everything just feels eerie with no one outside and one seeing the storm coming.

Tetonic plate shifts, they're invigorating. But really they do cause some pretty bad earthquakes.

Tornadoes and Hurricanes. Hurricanes that spawn tornadoes are even better.

This.

They are also quite frightening. I know this because I had a few pop up in my dream last night and that **** is scary as hell when you are thinking "well there's a tornado coming right at me".....

Personally though, I find the Tunguska Event fascinating. Here we have an explosion with about 1000 times the force of Hiroshima and it was COMPLETELY NATURAL! It's a good reminder that Mother Nature is no slouch herself and can cause serious damage if she wants to.

Well, I've been through hurricanes and earthquakes. I also witnessed a tornado start to come down from a cloud, then for some strange reason reversed itself and disappeared - never touched down.

So which was the most frightening and awesome? Was waiting for the input by someone who had the "pleasure" to experience a few.

I'm fascinated with Solar Flare - and no, not because of that Nicholas cage movie.

If I had to choose one on earth, probably volcano. When Mount Pinatubo in P.I. erupted in '93, I was 7 years old. My town was a few hundreds of kms away, but we felt the tremors, saw the smoke clouds and I remember a lot of ash raining down. We weren't afraid of lava or anything because we were far enough, but more of the after affects like in agriculture, people going crazy in fear, etc....
