[QUOTE="andyboiii"][QUOTE="Neoyamaneko"][QUOTE="elblanquito_81"][QUOTE="mrgab"] Matsui - when healthy the guy hits .290+, scores 100 runs, drives in 100 runs = hows that overrated?
Whos overrated Eli? Hes a young QB that did a good job to lead his team to beating an undefeated team in the super bowl, and continues to develop.
Neoyamaneko
Exactly. Matsui missed much of the season with a knee injury and couldn't contribute. How a player that didn't miss a single game his first three years with the Yankees and hits consistently is considered overrated is beyond me.And let's not forget that under Eli, the Giants have started 3-0 this season. There are a lot of overrated players in sports, these two are nowhere near being considered that.
Yep...NY fans taking things personally. Why is this not surprising?
he made all valid points, and judging by his post he's just stating the truth. he is also right about Eli. 3-0 this year and that's with one of their best Defensive Ends still injured. He's not better then his brother but he is definitely up there with the best in the league currently
Well, if you've seen Matsui with the Yomiuri Giants, you can see why I'm unimpressed with him with the Yankees. The guy wasn't called "Godzilla" in the Japan Leagues just because he needed another nickname. Now he can't crush one out of the park like he used to, and his fielding is suspect, so now he's DH....but he *isn't* overrated.
And like I said before with Manning and the Giants that it's the sum of the parts, and not the individual pieces.
Homeruns are overrated is the real answer. RBIs, runs, batting average, on base percentage is where it counts.
