"Dieu et mon droit" is French for "God and my right". Isn't it ironic how the UK's motto is in French seeing as how they hate each other (supposedly)? Correct me if I'm wrong. To the Brits on GS, what language would you rather the motto be in and what should the motto be?

Can I ask where exactly you get that from? I'm a Brit, and this is the first I've heard of it.:?

Well, it's the royal motto, and there was a lot of intermarriage between French and English royalty between wars, so it's not that shocking. Of course, Scotland has its own classier Latin motto "nemo me impune lacessit", colloquially "Mess with the bull, get the horns" but more literally "None provoke me with impunity"

According to your link, its apprently the motto to the British Monarchy, which would make sense since as already pointed out in this topic, our Kings and Queens have French ancestory.

No, the US has an infatuation with Latinos (which is just as offensive in its own way)

If you knew anything about the history of the UK and Europe in general then it would.
