Is there a big difference between the two? I want to get a Bike, I am not planning on doing any sort of hardcore offroading with it. I'm not planning on doing Tour de France either. Im leaning towards a mountain bike.

You can get a hybrid bike, which is one meant for the road or off-road.

That's cool, I never knew such things existed, the last time I owned a bike was when I was 14 years old. I am 25 now.. lol

A Mountain bike is a better all round bike, Road bikes can't go on anything other then a hard smooth surface. Not to mention the tyres on a road bike are 10x harder to change.

I agree unless you're joining a society where people only have road bikes like I did (bad move :P). They're a lot more versatile for recreational use.

Just get a good city bike. Far more practical then either a mountain bike or a road bike.

Atouring bike is good. Its got clearance for wider tires and has alot of gears and it has drop bars.

Neither. I bought a car so I wouldn't have to ride a bike anymore.
