I hate most romance movies when the break-up happens in the rain... or the guy finds the girl again... and it's raining and he's standing in the rain... It's happened to me in real life, but I doubt it happens that often and to everyone.

What are your pet peeves... My best friend hates the "main-character survives" in action movies.

How about you?

Can you give some examples? I hate explosions for the sake of explosions. They've lost their 'wow' factor.

I don't dislike cliches, if they're used correctly any cliche is fine.

Hmm... I didn't think a main character suriving in a movie would be considered a cliche... Anyway, the one I hate is when people throw up. Makes it seem like everyone has weak stomachs. There are people that can keep their composure in stressful situations. It's just unrealistic to me.

Try most any movie where there is a dramatic moment they've been hinting at is going to happen for 30 min.

I hate when the main character survives just to make the audience feel better. I also hate the broken up couple walking away from each and one looks back then keeps walking, followed by the next character doing the same thing.

Watch the first part of Aliens vs Predator.

"They call it Hunters Moon"

*Images of Alien and Predator fighting*

It is like really? The damn movie is called Alien VS Predator, of course an Alien and Predator are going to show up and fight.

I hate when people in the horror movies just stare and scream at the monster coming to get them and then run by the time they get close.

Yeh, I know what foreshadowing is. I was asking for some examples, as none come to mind for me, at the moment.

I wouldn't really call this a cliché, but: I don't like when the protagonist dies and it adds nothing to the plot. The writers couldn't think of a good ending so they just kill off the main character. Sometimes the protagonist dying works; but it usually infuriates me. I hate lazy writing. :x

And when they make a movie based on a book, and completely change the plot. :|

How come when in movies where the hero is trying to stop/get to the master villain, why does it always seem when they finally reach that bad guy at some point, the villain always has his back turned at the hero and is in the shadows before he starts to monologue?

I will add a person getting killed why watching the other main characters get upset and angry in slow motion with cliche'd music, as seen in this scene.

Ha, very true. Another thing in this kind of area is when the villain is stood over the hero, with a gun to his head or something, lecturing him.

Guy kneels over his dead loved one, looks to the sky (often in the rain) and screams, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

The one religious dude (or group) in the movie consists entirely of fundamentalist nutjobs that inevitably support (or become) the antagonist(s) out of sheer extremism.

I hate it when they feel they have to add a love story to an action movie. It almost always feels forced and tacked on as an afterthought.

When a group of people split up to investigate something knowing there's a mass murderer on the loose. Why the **** would you do that?! Logic dicates that if you stay together you have a higher chance of survival. But **** no, why not split up and be like lambs to the slaughter...

It happened too quickly. In the story, if you get hit by that particular curse, you die instantly.

I seen part 6 (Half Blood Prince) last month, I thought it was bad... since you read the books, what you thought of it? I enjoyed Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, and Goblet.

Just curious why you picked those certain ones? I've liked them all but as i recall those were the ones that had the most CG and effects in them.

thats probably why... lol. I like visuals but a good story is also very important to me, but the Half Blood Prince was boring IMHO, it's like I wanted to care about what was going on... but it kept dragging and the relationship side-story with Ron was getting me angry

Movie that show many points of view of what happened. *cough* Vantage Point *cough*

It get very repetitive and annoying.

Oh and movies that have really long open credits like all the Spiderman movies.

Ooo, just thought of one: where some jackass in a horror movie pretends to be caught by something (in a hole, or through a door or whatnot) only for him to turn around to his distressed friends and laugh in their faces, saying "Only joking!"

Any character that is included in a movie for the sole reason of adding comic relief (a.k.a. more than half the cast of Transformers 2).

In most if not all action movies bad guy is after x item and the goodguys have to stop bad guys before y event happens.

In horror movies like halloween the killer walks about 1 or 2 mph and catches up to the running victem.

In horror movies the victim ALWAYS does something stupid to get themselves killed

A comic-relief character that feels out of place. Ex: Those two transformer twins in and *shudder* Jar Jar Binks.
