I don't know how popular this opinion is, but the ending to 2001: A Space Odyssey was really satisfying, at least in my opinion. -Sun_Tzu-Well, it was very surreal, but the music and the imagery combination was epic... So I agree. I also nominate Taxi Driver. Not only is it one amazing movie, but the ending, as 2001's, was very surreal, and I love that in a movie, rather than the chessy garbage that I thought occured in TDK's ending. :x
there will be blood's ending was so satisfying. daniel plainview was a character that i, despite all human decency, had been enjoying all movie while eli was somebody i really loved watching get humiliated. anybody who saw the ending knows that i got all i wanted and more. the revenge was almost poetic.LoG-SacramentI 100% agree with that. Damn that was an awesome ending.
LoTR. Everything felt right.jachichorro
I'm of the belief that if a movie was made off of a book, it should be accurate. The blatant destruction of the ending in LoTR made it completely.
In the same notion, I assert that only people who've read the book and watched the movie can truley judge whether or not the movie was good. But maybe I'm just being pretentious.
Satisfying ending? Maybe Bourne Identity. Too bad I knew it had to end. Can't think of any really satisfying endings. I just watched Collateral last night, but I'm not sure if seeing something once lets me claim whether or not it's a good ending O_o.

Sunshine, the ending was perfect. Most disaster movies involve 10 minutes of people celebrating or people being congratulated on a great mission at the end (and usually a funeral to respect those who died). But in Sunshine, there isnt any of that, and it just makes the ending much more appealing in my opinion.
EDIT: And the fact you see Capa enjoying his last milliseconds of life whilst touching the surface of the sun was just pure awe (he was travelling at almost the speed of light, so time slowed down enough so he could witness it)

I must have watched it a 100 times.
And when I say that, I mean not one that you thought was good, but one that you thought really brought the movie (or series) to a good closure. As for myself, I just finished watching the Bourne Ultimatum, and even though there might be a fourth, I felt that it really brought a sense of closure to the trilogy.Legendaryscmtremind me how it ended again please.

Probably The Dark Knight and Jurrasic Park.Lotus-EdgeI was going to say the Dark Knight but it certainly didnt bring anything to a close I still loved it though Im going to say Walk the Line as it patched things up with Johnny's father and everything seemed nice and calm at the end as opposed to how screwed up and horrible most of the movie was going for Johnny
Deathproof. Nothing was more satisfying than
seeing those girls kick the CRAP out of that creep
Luncbox1
I literally laughed for five minutes after seeing that; it was such a great ending. Then like they rolled the credits and went back and I think Rosario (soooo hot!) put her heel through Kurt's eye! Oh god, so great.
I also like the end to Requiem for a Dream. I love sad endings, and that was so sad it was gorgeous.
Some other endings I like:
***MINOR SPOILERS! Theyre all old movies so you have no right to get pissed, but youve been warned*********
Babe: "That'll do Pig. That'll do"
Magnolia: it starts raining frogs. WTF? But it is soooo awesome and the music with every character singing along.
The Life Aquatic: when Murray finally finds t he shark and that beautiful song is playing and he makes peace with himself; its like watching someone find God and peace or something.
Boondock Saints: executing a mob boss at his court hearing. JUSTICE!
Dumb and Dumber:
"Hey we need some lotion boys to rub lotion on us for events"
"Well youre in luck; if you head down that way five or ten minutes there is a town; Im sure you'll find some people there"
*girls look around in confusion*
"OK, thanks..."
*five seconds after bus full of bikini models departs"
"You idiot!"
*pause*
"The town is THAT way!"
