Movie News: Crank 2 Has Been Confirmed; Jason Staham Returning

I came across an article this morning that states directors Mark Neeldine and Brian Taylor, the writing/directing team of 2006's Crankwill return to shoot the sequel...and with Jason Staham returning as Chev Chelios.

For those who seen the first film and knows how it ended, you'd think a sequel would be out of the question, but they have finished the script, and found a way around the ending. The movie will begin shooting April 25, 2008, it'll more likely land in theaters before the end of next year.

I'm usually not a big fan of Staham, but this movie came out of left field and caught me off guard. It was over the top, misogynistic, and God help me... a lot of fun. It's a movie that was never meant to be taken seriously, just sit back and enjoy the carnage. New Line Cinema tried to go somewhat to that route this year with Shoot 'Em Up, but it wasn't suscessful.

The writers came up with a way for his character to survive, apparently. The whole film was over the top; so I imagine whatever they come up with will fit perfectly well somehow. By the way, the original creative team behind the first one is back for this one.

I liked the first transporter but every movie he has done after that was a low budget hack. I'm sorry to fans of the guy but he really is terrible. I liked him in other movies when he isn't the leading man but almsot all his movies where he is the lead he @#!@$!A1B2C3CAL

I kinda understand where you're coming from. I wasn't a fan of The Transporter, but I thought he was pretty good for Crank.

It was released in Mid September 2006 in the UK. according to IMDB.

ok,he fell from a helicopter,like what?1500-2000 ft?he fell,hitting a car,making the thing into a pile of metal,then,he bounced up 100 ft,and hit the cement again.then,on the ground,blinked.the only way they can say he survived would be in a prequel,or they would have to proove that whatever the hell he was on can prevent something like that.
