Personally, I'd rather see him direct an original movie again. But as it is...

Director Rob Zombie will write & direct H2, the sequel to his remake of the original Halloween. The following is taken from the article:

The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted. Zombie said it won't resemble the original second installment, as the "House of 1000 Corpses" helmer continues to take the franchise in different directions.

I don't know if this will be worth the time to see; I thought the remake had the potential to be great, instead I walked away disappointed; maybe this will make up for it. At the very least, at least horror fans will now have a choice between this and Saw VI next Halloween.

Some choice, huh?

I loved the remake, of course it was no where near as classic as the 80's version. I thought though that it was extremely well done, brought up to modern times, and actually managed to portray a story.

Now the second Halloween for any non-Halloween fans, takes place in the hospital right after the original. I wonder if Zombie will try this? I enjoyed the original Halloween 2 almost as much as the first one.

I'll wait in anticipation for some more news. Thanks for the post TC.

According to the article, he'll be doing something completely different from the original second film.

I thought that he wouldn't make a sequel for the remake? Well it was better off being left for those who did see the movie.

Is it really that surprising that it was a bad movie?

He did, initially. This is from the article: Zombie had told Dimension chief and TWC co-chairman Bob Weinstein he wanted nothing to do with a sequel. But just like the franchise's villain, Zombie was compelled to come back. "I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again," Zombie said. "Now, we'll be hauling ass, and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine." Maybe he was offered a decent enough payday to warrant coming back, as well.

The remake sucked and Rob Zombie is overrated. The devil's rejects was the only film he did that I would call slightly better than average.

No word on casting yet, but after what happened to him in the last installment, it seems unlikely.

If anyone is qualified to make Halloween II (II), Rob Zombie is.

I sent you a PM, as to not spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Terrible Idea. Just what we don't need more sequels.

But profitable. It was made cheap, (only $15 mil) and grossed $78 million worldwide...That more than likely, is the reason for the sequel.

Yes people are silly enough to see these Saw films. They're made in less than a year. Why waste your money. I checked how long they were. They're like 90 minutes including credits. So thats like an 85 minute movie, maybe less that they're paying for.
