Or films that should have been nominated for more awards. There are tons of films that were missed out at the oscars this year. Some because of overly strict and stupid foreign film rules. Anyway here are some I loved that should have been nominated.

The Fall- Best art direction, best director.

Gomorra- Best foreign film

Let the right one in- Best foreign film, best score, best cinematography, best director, best picture.

I've loved you so long- Best actress

Synecdoche New York- Best director, best actor.

JCVD- Best actor

I didn't watch the oscars, but if Let the Right One In didn't get nominated, it should have.

The Dark Knight got robbed simply because it was a comic movie. It was an amazing movie which captured the darkness of our age, and the acting was amazing, not just referring to Ledger, although he did steal the movie. Same thing with Let The Right One In, except just becuase it's a horror movie, sort of. What also bugs me is that the girl actress and the boy actor in that movie (can't remember the names) should be the great teen actors of today. Instead, we have a bunch of Disney Channel kids who have a large fanbase and no talent.

The dark knight..not that I care much about the critics because we disagree quite a bit but it was such a fanscinating film. A movie doesn't make that much money unless it is really good. It was the best picture of 2008 no doubt and because it was based on a comic book they were too good to nominate it.

I hope it gets nominated next year, unfortunatly for some reason I dont think it will for some reason. I think it should have been up for nomination, the foreign film rules and restrictions are a bit strict to me.

Well to be fair, let the right one in is only those kids first film and it is a swedish film. When is the last time any swedish child actors in their first film got much success outside their own country? I agree that they were great but unfortunatley I dont think they will become huge.

That's a good point. And I realized that as I was writing it, too, but I'm just saying, it bothers me.

Meh, I don't know...Clint's acting was the highlight of the film, but I think it had a great story too, with a somewhat lost moral you don't see in movies these days.

I think they should become bigger too, they are fantastic actors for their age especially the girl Lina Leandersson. Maybe it is best that they dont become massive stars, they are still just kids you know? just look what success did to some other child actors. I did read somewhere that they wil both continue acting and I am curious to see what they do next. I havent been so impressed by a child actor in their first film since Natalie Portman in The Professional and Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver.

But in all honesty, I agree. We do have a few good child actors, though. Like Annasophia Robb. She's 15, and she was the little girl who drowned in Bridge to Terabithia. IMO, she's amazing for her age.

I know we could only nominate so many films for Best Picture, and the ones that were nominated were well-deserved.... But if we were able to nominate any more, I would have also chosen The Wrestler and Changeling for Best Picture.

Well, she story was predictable, but then again, so was Slumdog Millionare's. I agree with you on the acting other than Clint's too, that whole Mexican gang was just brutal.

Changeling? Nah. It's a good movie, no doubt, but it's not Best Picture worthy, and if Jolie wasn't playing the part, it wouldn't be so overrated. However, I do agree with you on The Wrestler. That was an inspirational movie with good morals, that would have been great for winning Best Picture.

I'm not a huge fan of Jolie, but I thought she played a great role in this movie.
Well I just saw the movie and loved it, so maybe that's why. Maybe if I wait a while, the appeal of the film will settle down a bit.

I think it ranks up there with all my other favorite films of 2008... Which includes The Wrestler, WALL-E, The Dark Knight and Milk.

And I'm not saying it's not a good movie, I mean, when I first heard of the plot, I thought it was genius. Maybe it's just because I dislike Jolie so much.

The only reason it wasn't, was because The Academy isn't too fond of pro wrestling. I too am disgusted at this. And Wall-E winning was the most predictable thing of the night. I've never even seen it.

There are some good swedish actors that are pretty well known, like Stellan Skarsgard. But I want to see the kids from let the right one in do well in their acting careers, but it would suck if their careers turned into something like the Coreys or Haley Joel Osmont.

I dont think it could be nominated tecnically since it was an animated documentary so it was a fact based thing so I dont think the academy could nominate it. That is probably BS though, I did hear from an academy member.

I think there's still a lot of problems with the academy, really. They have a problem with animated features as well. If there was ever an animated film that had a shot at being nominated for Best Feature, that film could have been WALL-E, and I'm sure a lot of people can agree with that. But ever since the Best Animated Feature category was added, they feel that they should stay in that category, as if they're completely different from anything else.

I'm not saying it should have won, I was just saying that it could have had a chance at being nominated. It was without a doubt one of the best films released in 2008, for sure. I know there will be people who will beg to differ (Maybe you do), but you can't really deny it was also one of (If not, THE) the highest rated films of 2008.

Dude has no idea how to film an action sequence, or anything fast paced. The editing is also crap.

:|

Yes. You can't deny that the police chase in BB was awful. I had no idea why the Batmobile crashed in TDK.

Nolan has an eye for slow or static scenes (The Prestige is incredibly well made), but for action... no.

Speed Racer's gonna be a classic. Just remember how 2001 or Blade Runner were bashed for "not making any sense".

Inb4 mature people saying Speed Racer's a joke. Oh wait...

Yes. You can't deny that the police chase in BB was awful. I had no idea why the Batmobile crashed in TDK.

The Batmobile was shot with a bazooka..

I've never seen anyone with such high opinions for Speed Racer.

I vote for Speed Racer - Best Everything.

You think Christopher Nolan can't film an action sequence, yet you think Speed Racer is flawless?

Dude, are you serious?! The chase scene was easily one of the most well-done action sequences I've ever seen...

And Speed Racer? Really?

EDIT: nvm, you said Batman Begins... The sentence after made it seem like you were talking about TDK's chase scene.
