I've seen a lot of movies, but right now I'm in the mood to see one with some kind of sequence or twist that will make me say "OH SH-". Not just a good movie, but one like Memento or Fight Club where everything sort of "comes together" in a fantastic way at the end. It doesn't have to be intense or serious.

Pan's Labyrinth and Moon. I can't guarantee that they'll blow your mind but they're still worth watching.

Two girls one cup. It looks great at the beginning, but then there is a huge twist about 5 seconds in.

Donnie Darko is a good mind **** movie. The Director's Cut actually helps it to make sense which some people consider a plus and some people consider a negative. Fans of the Director's Cut say it actually gives you enough info to figure out what's going on without having to rewatch the movie 50 times and deeply analyze ever little detail. Detractors of the DC hate it for exactly the same reason.

If you want a real mind melter though, go with "The Room". You'll be lucky if you can still form coherent thought after watching it.

El Topo.Jazz_Fan

What othe films has Jodorowsky done, and how would you compare them to El Topo?

I watched The Holy Mountain and thought that it was good, but some of it seemed unintentionally funny, and some of it seemed deliberately funny. And..it was such a weird and unconventional movie that I wasn't entirely sure when he was trying to genuinely say something stupid, and when he was intentionally being stupid in order to be funny.

For example, the guy who could teleport through mountains but not up them seemed to be intentionally played for laughs. But the scene in which Jesus killed the midget by throwing him into the sea seemed different. I found that comical, but somehow I got the impression that I wasn't supposed to. Same thing with the scene in which Jesus poops in a jar. I sort of get the impression that that's supposed to be serious, but I can't help but laugh at that scene.

UGAfootballfan

It's about a rookie detective who gets partnered with a veteran detective, and their first job together (and last, since the older detective is retiring) is to track down a serial killer. Basic "play-it-safe old cop" partenered with "hotheaded and inexperienced younger cop" sort of movie. Pretty much your standard "buddy cop movie", where two cops of opposing attitudes have to work together in order to solve the crime.
