One of my favorite movies of this decade so far is Terry Gilliam's Tideland, I dont get why it got such bad reviews. The girl who plays main character is amazing, sure the movie is very dark and disturbing at times, but it is also strangely beautiful and tragic too. Some people think that it is similar to pans labyrinth, which is kinda is in a way, I almost prefer it in some ways. Critics really didnt get this movie at all. Also I liked the movie Zardoz, just look at the star of it!

Indiana Jones 4.

I loved the first three, and wasn't expecting anything good. I was just glad to see more Indy. ;)

What did you hate about the I am legend book? i admit its a lot slower than the movie, but its also much more emotional and tense and the ending is brilliant compared to the crappy hollywood ending of the movie.

I'm with you on the Zardoz thing as I always found the movie rather interesting despite all the grief it receives. As far as my movies go...well I have a pretty established record for watching all sorts of just awful, awful movies and enjoying them, but I actually know those films are bad so I suppose they don't count. I guess I really enjoy the Beckinsale Underworld movies and Fraser in the Mummy films both of which receive a decent amount of flak. My incredibly picky friend and I both enjoyed Jason X a lot more than we thought we would.

I love the Underworld series.

And the only thing I dont like about Jason X is the acting. I thought it was really bad.

Films by David Lynch, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, inland empire, lost highway etc. My boyfriend and friends I try to watch them with all think they're just too weird and don't understand them. That's too bad, I really love his movies. Once you open up for them, they're not that hard to understand.

WHat was it about the ending you hated? Was it too depressing or sad? I'm not gonna flame and I respect your opinion, I personally thought the ending made the book much better.

Waterworld is one of my favorites

I, Robot was awesome

10,000 BC (2008) was epic, most people take it way more seriously than i think it was meant to.

I'll have to come back to this thread, there are a bunch of movies that i adore that i feel never get the praise they deserve.

in the book Neville is in los angeles suburbs not new york city. In the book, Neville is captured by a new breed of vampires who can restrain their urge for blood and can live in sunlight, he is taken to their headquarters to be executed. One of the vampires takes pity on him and gives him a pill to make the pain go away, she leaves and he realizes that he is the monster now, the vampires see him as a monster who kills their kind like a beast. He accepts his fate and takes the pills, the last line in the book is one of my favorites lines in literature.

Oh lawd Zardoz. A funny enough movie. If I took drugs, I'd trip for the entire movie.

That said, the movie took Connery out of the James Bond contest. I can no longer think of him as anything else than his role in Zardoz.

As for my movie.....Pootie Tang. Genius stuff.

A lot of people I know put it down for the very reason it was animated. I have no qualms with animation. You can have a very deep and dark animated film (like in Mask of the Phantasm).

[QUOTE="Syndicate-Curse"]Alien Vs Predator 2: Requiem
I Am Legend (Loved the movie, hated the book)
Thirteen (Ive never heard anyone talking about it)
I, Robot
DoomSyndicate-Curse

What did you hate about the I am legend book? i admit its a lot slower than the movie, but its also much more emotional and tense and the ending is brilliant compared to the crappy hollywood ending of the movie.

The ending is what I hated lol. I loved how it conveyed the feeling of just being alone and in solitude but the ending just ruined it for me to be honest.

WHat was it about the ending you hated? Was it too depressing or sad? I'm not gonna flame and I respect your opinion, I personally thought the ending made the book much better.

Just the fact that he got caught pissed me off.

And then the damn book ended halfway through the version I bought and started short stories that I hated.

I loved reading the short stories, most of Richard Mathesons novels have a last half that consists of short stories, if it was just the book it would be too short. The Short stories are extras.

I remember pootie tang, such an odd movie.

I liked that movie too. I was surprised that I liked it in the first place. Just a whole lot of grusome and brutal action that just seemed to click with me.

I liked Superman IV. I wouldn't put it anywhere near my favorite films, but I liked it.
