What are some movies that you really wish would come to blu-ray so that you can watch them in high definition?

I would really like for The Addams Family and Addams Family Values to be on blu-ray because they're a couple of my favorite movies of all time.

They have an animated version on DVD at least. I watched it before and it's actually not bad in my opinion. :)

1st three indiana jones movies. how mindboggling is it that those are not on bd yet?

maybe they need to redo all the special effects or something since those old green screen movies will look bad unretouched.

A proper release of Kill Bill would be nice. They were supposed to re-release it as one film on DVD--the way it was initially intended in theaters--and was supposed to be called Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. Someone at Miramax Films needs to get off their ass and get the ball rolling on this.

old bond films look amazing in hd on netflix.

anything on film was hd before the word hd was ever invented.

i have seen ww2 combat films and old black and movies and tv shows that were filmed like the original star trek series that are as clear as anything made in the last 5 years.

as long as the film is in good physical shape with no degradation of the cellulose or they have been remastered they look great.

I read an article (wish I still had the link) that Speilberg is currently working on this and it will be released sometime this year.

i remember back in the day seeing the part of temple of doom with all the rushing water on greenscreen and thinking even at that time it looked terrible so i'm guessing stuff like that is what they are fixing before the release.

From what I remember of the article I read, Spielberg was at a screening of Raiders in Los Angeles this past fall and announced to fans that he was currently working on new transfers of E.T. (the original version, not the special edition one back in 2002), Jaws, and the Indy trilogy. Universal will be putting out Jaws and E.T. this fall.

Yeah, I have been watching some old black and white movies in HD, while they have some noise and defects they look pretty decent/good. I have seen creature from the black lagoon (1954), Dracula (1931), bride of Frankenstein (1935), invisible man (1933)... a few others I can't remember. Everything that can be HD should be made HD, even if the benefits are minimal, any improvements are worthwhile.

Old ones yes. Though with blu-ray the quality on the image isn't as good as others made after HD became the thing.

I agree, Kill Bill is also one of my favorite movies of all time and I wish Miramax would go ahead and release The Whole Bloody Affair so that people can watch the movie the way it was meant to be. I'd probably still get it even though I already own volume 1 and 2 on both DVD and blu-ray.

I think it'll still be quite some time before it happens. As of late, a lot of their blu-ray releases are distributed thru Lionsgate. Maybe that could be a reason for the delay, among other things.

I don't think this will ever happen, although I held out a long time hoping it would be released. I kind of had a hunch it would never happen once they divided it into two parts, and now that so much time has passed it's even more unlikely Tarantino recuts the movie unless he finds himself in a really dire need for money. In a similar vein, I hope the extended Sin City dividied into stories hits blu-ray. So far all we have is the theatrical version.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed because Miramax has released some of Tarrintio's other films onto Blu-ray not too long ago (Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction, and reservoir dogs), maybe they'll get around ot it...eventually.

I only pay $5-10 for blurays. I just wait until the black friday sale on Amazon. Stock up on everything from that year. I've never spent more than $15 on any blu-ray. Blu-Ray >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dvd lol 480p

X2 big time. It is practically a crime that these aren't out yet!

Also, WTF happed to Ghostbusters II on blu-ray? They even advertised it when they released the first one, which was done horribly by the way, and we never got it. Can't believe that they don't have a good blu-ray version of these movies yet. They need to take the time to make them decently like what was done for the Back to the Future series.

No release date for Cannibal Holocaust, but The Exorcist is on Blu-Ray right now; both versions on one disc.
