Last time the volcano exploded it killed lots of people and lots of damage happened.

Why cannot they just throw a lot of water and snow on it so it calms down to a normal sized mountain?

We should sacrifice someone by throwing them into the volcano.

You really need to learn what a volcano is and why they erupt. Intense pressure and heat build up and cause the Earth's crust to crack/rupture thus causing an explosion of incredible force. Water isn't going to help cool the underlying layers of liquid rock.

I remember playing Lair on the PS3 and you had to get your dragon to drop bombs into the volcano to stop it from going off. True story.

One does not "cool" seismic pressure with ice or water. Not unless you can somehow teleport the oceans underneath the crust of the Earth.

Do you even know what happens when water is superheated? It turns into superheated steam. Combine that with the force of a volcanic eruption, and you've got a superheated wave of steam travelling across the earth at hundreds of miles per hour. Anyone in its path will have their skin and brains boils, and their heads will explode from the internal pressure in their cranial cavities.

Sorry, i've never seen a steam volcano. I've seen a regular old volcano, and i know if you put enough ocean water on it, it'll cool down and shrink down to a normal sized fella.
