It won't be released until mid-November, but this is what I'm looking forward to:

Can't go wrong with Looney Tunes. Can't wait to see what they look like with the Blu-Ray treatment.

Yeah. If he wants to show off the format, he should go with The Thin Red Line, though. The transfer is stunning.

If you do get it, make sure it's the "Ultimate Cut" version.

If people didn't care then they wouldn't be a market right now. Personally I couldn't go back DVD.

For me it's all about the experience, sure you could down a cheaper route but half the experience is the quality of the picture.

I find more important things to buy. Like food and rent. Then I prefer to be able to afford games instead of expensive movies on the side.

Fair enough, although blurays are only a fraction more expensive than dvds.

I find them when they are on sale, the most I have ever spent on a blu-ray is 15 bucks and that was for the back to the future trilogy(yes all three).

The best examples of the format, from what I've seen so far: -Back to the Future -Any Pixar movie -Any Disney remaster (classic animation, I'm not talking their recent live action crap) -Lord of the Rings (Extended) -Star Wars Set -Blade Runner -Speed Racer (mediocre movie, gorgeous transfer, for the same reasons Pixar movies look great) -Planet Earth

Not to mention that the sound on blu ray is usually superior. It makes for a better experience, so yeah I think it's worth the 2 or 3 extra bucks.

I have Fight Club, Inception, Avatar and Star Trek. I think they are all worthy of a Bluray purchase. For me to buy a bluray I need to really love the movie, and it has to have some special effects of some sort to make it more worth it.

I bought the bluray pack last year, assuming that the extended editions were on the discs. But that was not the case. Also, the special features were 20 mins long and were on DVD's. I hate the profiteering attitude of Film makers. This especially pissed me off.

The Bluray extended copies are great. Plus tons of deleted scenes, special features and compentary on their own bluray disk. The theatrical blurays were just a gimmick that they released so they could finish the extended editions.

Im just mad because I had just finished buying the set when they announced the extended edition set. And what is it? $100? I can't afford that.
