Depends on the type. Right now the base mustangs look much better than the base Camaros. Overall throughout history though, Camaro>>>>>>>>>>>Mustang. Right now I'm tired of the boring retro styling of both though. The 94-2003 fbodies look much better than the current Camaro.
Lol.. what a joke. Have you read the reviews of the 2011-13 Mustangs? They're better performers (read- FASTER) than their Camaro counterparts model for model, and the Boss 302 doesn't even have a Camaro counterpart. They also look like a modernized old-school Pony/Muscle car, rather than a toy that you might find in a happy meal or Michael Bay movie. Yes, that's what the 5th generation Camaro looks like. Having driven both, the Mustang is more fun and better thought-out as well. The Camaro is like a cave inside, and you can barely see out of it. The current Mustang has a modern version of the classic 1967 interior.
That being said, the Camaro is not a terrible car. It does look god awful, and is hundreds of pounds heavier than the Mustang model for model. The Mustang manages to match or beat the handling of Camaro as well, except for the ZL1 vs GT500 matchup. That doesn't matter to most muscle car buyers though, because the GT500 rapes it so hard in a straight line that it's still a more desirable car in it's segment. If you ask most people, the biggest knock on the current Mustang is the solid rear axle. While an independent rear suspension like the Camaro has does give you better road manners over uneven surfaces and lends itself more to handling at the limits, all doubts are silenced once you actually drive a current Mustang.. especially a GT or better. As a drag stiip car, the Mustang is unquestionably better due to that same solid axle.
The 5th gen Camaro is a fat, ugly pig. It has the benefit of a great lineup of engines, but not as nice as what Ford is putting in the Mustang now.

Mustang GT puts more power to the wheels than Camaro SS, and weighs less. It's a faster, more practical choice. Not to mention that they are also marginally less expensive when it comes time to drive one off the lot. You can get a brand new Mustang GT 5.0 for under $30,000.
You should really spend more time fact checking and less time writing paragraphs of nonsense!! Im not sure where you live, but here in the Kansas City Metro, you can't get a Mustang GT 5.0 for under $38,000 and even the V6 Mustang which is SLOWER...312 HP for the Mustang and 323 HP for the Camaro than the V 6 Camaro) runs $30,000. The Boss 302 will cost you an easy $45,000 and the Shelby GT500's monthly payment for the average guy is equal to that of a nice 4 bedroom house monthly payment with a sticker of $60,000 plus! I test drove both the 2012 Mustang and Camaro and while both are nice cars, the Camaro even in the V6 is faster, more responsive and more fun to drive! The Mustang has this god aweful wall-o-dials and gizmos whereas the Camaro has put everything onto about 6 dials and steering wheel controls.Lol.. what a joke. Fact checking? Should I post a copy of my bill of sale, showing that I got my 2013 GT 5.0 for under 30 grand? There's a fact. You can get a V6 Mustang at almost any Ford dealer for under 25 grand. Get out of the house. Look up the MSRP for starters. How about the fact that a car with 323hp isn't necessarily faster than one with 312? Are you familiar with power to weight ratio, power curve, and gearing? Apparently not. Here are some facts-
Mustang V6- 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13.9.
Camaro V6- slower

If you're going to talk about monthly payments on a GT500, why not mention the Camaro ZL1 too? It's right in the same ballpark pricewise. Also, you can get a Boss 302 for 40-41k, not $45,000. Considering that it's faster than a BMW E92 M3 around Laguna Seca and absolutely demolishes the Camaro SS, there can be no comparison. What's amazing is that publications were doing comparative articles involving the ZL1 and Boss 302 despite the 12 to 15 grand price gap, and the ZL1 narrowly won.
Give it up fanboy. You may not like the looks of the Mustang, but the facts don't lie. It's a faster car and a better value.
[QUOTE="jesuschristmonk"]Same here.
If I was rich, I'd have both of these bad boys. Down right, 2 of the sexiest cars ever made.

Yeah.. Opening the hood of a Boss 429 is enough to obtain an erection.
I still say the Middle car (the challenger) is the best out of both. It's got the same handling and speed as the Camaro yet looks like an actual muscle car, has the best interior out of both cars and also has the nicest sounding engine. Of course it's a bit more expensive but at least you aren't going to be like everybody else driving around in a Mustang or Camaro (the challenger is at least a bit more rare)
So IMO Challenger>Both and Mustang>Camaro. In terms of raw peformance though the Mustang wins everytime.
Depends on the body style in my opinion.
Generation one, I give it to Camaro.
Generation two, I give it to Camaro.
Generation three, hard gen to tell because the Foxbody lasted forever and it changed a lot.
Generation four, the camaro looked like sh*t.
Generation five..., I prefer the mustang simply because it's more aggressive looking, and you can tell if you have a higher trim unlike the camaro.
*I take back gen one, I like the fastback.
It's more rare because it's a horrible car. Shares the same interior as a dodge ram, weighs too much, has the biggest engine but's the slowest, and has a gas guzzler tax in America. The next best part is the damn thing claims to be 'Detroit muscle' in the commercials but it's made in Canada.(the challenger is at least a bit more rare

The Challenger is a fat tub of lard that should never have existed in it's current form. Any of the V8 models weigh well in excess of 4000lbs, and they're just huge. They are also slow model for model when compared to either the Camaro or Mustang. You literally have to spend 10 to 15 grand more to get a Challenger that will run with a Mustang GT 5.0. The SRT8 has a great engine, but the car is just too damn big, heavy, and expensive to even be part of the comparison. Not to mention that it's a Mopar, which means that your extra dollars aren't going towards better quality. As a former owner of multiple Mopar products, I can say with confidence that they make the worst quality cars out of the Detroit big 3. If they don't fall apart after 60,000 miles you got real lucky. As my friend (and former Dodge mechanic) says- "They are made out of swiss cheese. They look good, sound good, and that's it."
I love the way the new Mustang looks. It's a good blend of modern and classic styling, and it's much nicer inside than the Camaro. However, I prefer the older Camaros to older Mustangs.
I think both cars look good but I prefer the camaro. So what if it's a bit heavier and it's not as fast as the mustang, I'm not planning on racing it anyways. My biggest issue with the camaro is the visibility. It friggin sucks. The best muscle car ever in my opinion though is the mustang from the movie "Gone In 60 Seconds".
