uh of course it is safe. whey protein is used by so many people. its just protein, theres nothing unhealthy about it.
You'll be fine, just drink water as well. The only problem you're going to encounter is the taste, especially if you get strawberry flavour.AirGuitarist87
that really depends on the type, ive had some very very good tasting ones.
It's safe, but none of that stuff tastes good.
Grab a spoonful of flour, stir it into a quarter cup of water, drink that - that's roughly the same sensation you get when you drink a whey drink/shake. Feel the gag reflex and the bile building up in your throat? Yeah, that's it.
If you do a ton of weightlifting and/or exercise, you'll need the protein to repair and build muscle. If you don't, you're better off eating something that tastes good.
Yeah of course it is safe. It's just protein, high quality protein at that; your body needs it regardless. You'd be a lot healthier eating that then say, hamburgers.
Just know that large amounts of protein can put a bit of strain on your kidneys, so just remember to drink water as well.

protein will only hurt your kidneys if you're getting a lot and not using it
also for people who intend on using protein but hate the taste try out cytogainer (chocolate) I would actually drink this just for the taste alone. Also Syntha 6 is probably one of the best tasting things ever.

There's a lot of protein powders out there that taste good, although usually you have to pay a good amount for it. Still, if you actually blend it with something more than water.. say make a shake of banana, frozen berries, oatmeal, honey, chocolate whey and water and you have a pretty good tasting smoothie.

i usually think mixing it tastes awful but I realize im the minority when it comes to that. Occassionally i mix it with milk, but i think its too thick then. different strokes different folks

yah, the whey protein i take taste great. From the ones I've tasted, various different brands can never get the taste of strawberry shakes right. You can get ones that taste nice but nothing like strawberry but I've had one from a really popular brand (I think it was Optimum 100% Whey) was so disgusting I had to mix bananas into it until I couldn't taste anything else.

Meh, I usually tend to blend mine with mashed up pure pumpkin. I think that's pretty weird.

Muscle Milk is the most expensive and effective that I know of but it has its negative side effects, whey protien is fairly safe.trickmyster13

Yeah but if you mix it right with some extra flavouring it tastes like a drinkable pumpkin pie. Plus the pumpkin has a very good complex of carbohydrates, such as fibre and sugar which are both good for post work out. Not to mention a truck load of vitamin A, and honestly, you can never get enough vitamin A.

definitely sounds good
Those kind of powders are good if you mix with milk. However I recommend No xplode or muscle rx. I have friends that have been on no xplode for about a month and can tell a good differene in their workout with having more engergy for more reps and even after their workout they don't feel drained or tired as much. I just purchased the rx and like it alittle more just bc I can pop a couple of them about 30 min before a workout without having to mix anything.jharv
no xplode is only used for nitric oxide, its not protein. no xplode gives you a lot of energy before a workout, and as someone whos used it and looked into it i wouldnt use it for a long period of time.

Noxplode isn't meant for people who don't even know what whey protein is. Noxplode is meant for people who are already maxing out their energy expendatures during a workout. Not many people even reach that point. Taking it otherwise is litterally "pissing away money".
Anyways, stick with Whey and multivitimins... any other supplementis a waste of money, unless you are someone who can actually explain why, with your own words.
Anyways, if you aren't working out regularly... Whey is a waste too... heck, whole foods is the best hands down.

Omega-3 fish oil supplements are pretty good, they help stregthen your joints among other things.
But remember, supplements only make up 4% of your results. Or so i've heard.

Don't know what you were drinking, it's nothing like mixing a spoonful of flour into water and drinking it. You might have a few clumps in it though.Robertoey
Isn't that called dough?

Only if you add enough flowa!
Well there's a fine line between flowery water and dough my friend... you better watch it...

It's the best pre-workout supplement out there. I also take protein as post-workout.
