After ONE bottle, my face turns all red/bloated and my heart starts to pump faster. It gets so embarrassing when everyone starts to notice me and think that I'm wasted when I'm really not. Does anyone out there have the same problem? If so, is there a way to stop this?Khoaki
Im not being racist but are you asian??? Most of my asian friends that drink will get a red face.

There is the very rare condition when a person is actually allergic to alcohol, but most likely you were drinking red wine, in which case you were having a reaction to the sulphites used in the red wine making process, and this is very common, so just switch to gin and tonic!!:)

Yes I am asian. Unfortunately you're right because I found that this is called the "asian glow". Apparently, it's an allergic reaction to alcohol and half of us asians are unable to break it down properly. :(Though, I'm not too worried anymore because I can just drink a lot more so that the redness of my face won't be too surprising.
Can you guess which one of these gentlemen has asian glow?
There's something called Alcohol flush reaction where people have trouble breaking down the alcohol so they get a reaction to it. It's pretty common among Asian people, something to do with enzymes or whatever.Orlando_Magic
Wikipedia has an explanation on this...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_flush_reaction
