My Finished Proposal Drawing

Well, the last thread was locked and I have NO clue why. But I wanted to create this one to get some feedback on the finalized drawing. This is, after all, the most important decision of my life and it has to be perfect. If you guys have no clue what im talking about, heres the old thread:

Now, please, tell me what you think. Good and bad, what could be changed, should I leave it, anything. Just try not to be rude like some people are being tonight for some reason...

I couldnt get the ideal picture of it that I wanted but this will have to do for now. I only have one light in this room where its setup so its a little dark. And I had to take it at an upward angle so it stretches the picture a tiny bit but..you guys get the idea of how it looks.

Whack it inside an envelope with a short letter actually asking for her hand in marriage. That way you can post it and be like, 'Oh look!A letter. I wonder who sent that...? *wink nudge hint hint*' She'll open it and bam! Will you marry me along with that quite frankly astonishingly good drawing.

Looks great. nice detail and uses of contrasting value. Just make sure you have a real ring to back it up. And remember to plan some kind of meaningful context. A location or place that you will remember. Don't just be like, here, I made this. I proposed to my lady at the end of the infinity room pictured below. Infinity, a good metaphor for the whole marriage thing. It worked flawless. When we got to the end of the room I said, 'we've come this far, will you go the rest of the way with me?' and was like bamm! and pulled out a box with the ring. Score!

thats a nice idea too. Read my old thread that I posted. I have the whole plan laid out there. Just giving her the drawing would be silly! :D

How original (not sarcastic). It's a great drawing, especially the shading, but you won't be a hand model anytime soon with an index finger like that. Sort that out and it wlil be perfect.Brutal_Elitegs

ya...it made an awkward shape because I had to stretch my hand out and in an awkard angle and i was gripping the box tight so my nail like sunk in and the tip of my index finger basically smooshed out making it look fatter. But, its all I could do, no one was there to take a picture for me :(

actually...this is the critisism i need. I naturally wont notice things other people will, so i just went and fixed the finger a little bit so the tip wasnt so...rounded compared to the rest of the finger (as if the finger had its own head) and it looks better now. Keep them coming!

Yeah, that's the only problem with it. The tip looks like a big toe. It can easily be fixed in photoshop, but then it would lose it's pencil authenticity.

You should post them at Deviantart, if you already haven't. In time maybe your proposal drawing would become a cult favourite there.

I tried saving it by drawing over the already laid down charcoal but then the paper began to peel and get nasty. So, I started the process over again and got about half way done with drawing number 2 and realized, drawing in a rush and in a poor mood does not go well.

I took some time to think about what to do and had an epiphany. Something that will make the new drawing even better than the last. I will post pictures when it is finished and see what you guys think and how they compare. (sorry to drag this thread on. I had to tell someone since this is a "classified" drawing and I can't vent to anyone when something goes wrong.)

ok i finally finished the FOURTH drawing. Did reach some bumps in the road with this drawing in general, Glad this one actually turned out nice.. Imo, in person, it looks better than the original and it is a MUCh closer representation of my hand. And all the proportions are actually correct in this one. The image quality of it, on the other hand, isn't so great. My room has horrible lighting. But here it is:

in the original, my fingers were too skinny and my overall hand was too long. The ring was too big and the box was not propotioned right. Im almost glad it got destroyed and i had to keep doing it. What do you guys think?
