My Friend is the Worst Wing-Man EVER!!!!!!!!!!

So I was riding the bus today and I seen this girl I had my eye on for a minute. I said forget being scared so I started up a convo with her about nothin. My friend knew her for a long time and he came back there with us to talk, at first I thought it would be a good idea cuz he can keep the convo going cuz he knows her. So, when we was talking about something stupid( you know to make her laugh) he said out of the blue "He is trying to get with you"....... I said "huh what" cuz I know he just didnt say that out of the no where. Then he told her to set with him and I heard him say "He likes you do you like him?" so she said "If he wanted to talk to me why he aint ask me". I didnt know what to say so I acted like I couldnt hear them. At that point she went in her seat and acted like she was playing with her phone and I had the stupid face like I know this isnt happening. So after he got off the bus I asked her what did he say to you (even tho I now) and she said "he said u wanted to talk to me" and I said "oh dont worry about him he dont know how to act". So OT I heard what she said and I think that means if I wanted to talk to her I just need to ask her, so do I need to ask her or back down?????????

P.S Im going to still try any way I just want to know your opinion!!

you should have atleast made jokes about what he said,acting like you didn't hear them was like the worst reaction ever,although you couldn't have analyzed everything at that time,it's not really your fault,sounds like your friend ca't be called a real friend anymore.

Either your friend isn't the best at social interactions or he's a jerk. Take your pick.

You blew it. Your friend was just moving things along. Pretending you can't hear people are saying is kind of an awful response. She might have thought you were ignoring her or thought you were weird. You should at least tried to take advantage of the situation and went ahead and asked her out, now she might think you don't have the gumption for it.
