Where were you 7 years ago? Or any of the subsequent 9/11s, for that matter.Darth_Tyrev
making this same post....
I was watching videos on youtube and it's hard to watch and hear some of the stuff that was going on, like the man who was on the phone with an operator and the tower collapsing while he was still on the phone :(andyboiii
or watching the guy in the burning building hold up an american flag......then fall to his death...

I'm with you.
not to be ignorant or anything, but i have seen countless movies and references and documentaries about it. These things happen occasionally in OTHER countries and we don't care , so (because i'm Australian) i'm not going to give 9/11 any extra special attention that everyone is giving it.
no south park?

Occasionally, when I feel like it. But South Park is too dirty for my tastes most of my time anyway.

thousands of people die in one day from terror attacks often? i was not aware. but if you lived in america, you would feel much different.

Note the keyword occasionally. And yes, try any african nation where thousands die from all sorts of things EVERY day.
yeah i cant watch that stuff. I change the channel immediately. I will never forget that horrible day. and I hate the fact that they play the footage on TV, it's also very disrespectful to all the people that died (and their families)Talldude80
I am sorry, but I disagree. Many Americans have put 9/11 in the back of thier selfish little minds. While I understand that it is in good health to "move on", I think it is very important to remind people that this did happen and can happen again.
I just thank god that we have been safe for the last 7 years.
Another point, this was not just a US tragedy, but a worldwide one. A great percentage of the dead were from other countries and were of many nationalities.

The world never saw a gaint sky scrapers come crashing to the ground nor a jumbo jet flown into one until 9/11. If you have you aussies must get some good stuff in the land down under.[QUOTE="lilburtonboy748"][QUOTE="djzootie"][QUOTE="Darth_Tyrev"]Where were you 7 years ago? i have to agree with you there, some people act like the collapse of the towers was the worst thing that ever happpened when it reallyv sits quite low on the deathtoll rankings

I suppose the difference is there's just so much footage of it which makes it easier for people to empathise with the victims. Also the fact that it happened in a western country - a place that is meant to be secure and safe.
I saw it live on the day it happened... Why the hell would I want to watch it again? :?JustPlainLucas
Agreed.

Exactly, because you should only give a damn about things that happen in your own country. See, we don't care about all the bad in your country because it doesn't effect us, so how can you not care about what happens in our country. .....Wait...what?

well actually there have been many attacks on Western Nations, it was the first attack on American soil thats why its big (well unless you count pearl harbour). I see it but seeing as i'm Australian i don't have a large attachment to it that much although i do feel very sorry for all those who lost their lives.

That's fair enough, sir. Strangely enough I wasn't that bothered by it at the time (though I was only 15). I guess I started to get interested in it after the 7/7 bombings in London (I'm from england, btw :P). My friend works in London and uses the tube a lot, and I remember being really worried about him. It made me care about 9/11 a hell of a lot more.
Seen it plenty of times, dont feel a thing. Sorry to sound rude but I don't really care much. Yes it's a tragedy, but are we even going to be remembering it in 40 years?freek666
Yes we will. It's something hard to forget..

Are you kidding me dude? Of course we will remember it. It is up there with Pearl Harbor and the assassination of JFK. Pretty much everyone in the US (don't know about other nations) will remember exactly where they were and what they were doing at that time.
Nobody seems to have mentioned the 4000 plus american soldiers, countless canadian and british soldiers who have died, in Iraq and Afghanistan, and who are still their defending our countries so this will never happen again.
Never forget.

I doubt that it is even possible to stop these things from happening again. If anything we have just given them more reason to hate. I know there was nothing we could do but retaliate but it always felt like we were baited into going into there territory.
