GAME OVER MAN!!!!!

nah, Try scanning several times. if viruses keep coming, shutdown your pc (close internet connection). Scan again with everything. If it's still messed up, just hard reset your pc.

Then go to the guy who send you this and go beat up his face.

It was a trojan i think, but scan your PC and if you havent got a virus protector, get one, as it will delete this one and keep

you safe against future threats.

I know how you feel man, my PC got attacked about a year ago and I just used the CD's that came with my pc to system restore it (or whetever it's called). Just disonnect your PC from the internet use a virus scanner / spy ware scanner, get an improved firewall like zonealaram or kiero (if you don't already have one) and if it's still screwed use the CD's that came with your PC and system restore it.

It was a trojan i think, but scan your PC and if you havent got a virus protector, get one, as it will delete this one and keep

you safe against future threats.

Do you mean why did they make the virus and send it to you? Well most of the time people make spyware and such to monitor your computer and see what you are doing. They then sell the imformation to websites for cash, also, they can steal your personal information on them if you have that sort of stuff on your computer.

It could be a Trojan Horse. If you have a good anti-virus software it should identify it.

Go into 'Progam Files' and look for any oddities, files that you're not sure about or are new and recent, investigate and delete

Hmm I got a virus once, some forum I regulary go to got hacked and when you tried to access the forum the download popped up, and I was like  "oh yea as if anyone would be dumb enough to download it"  and everyone who went to the forum knew it had been hacked cause it's a small community and we all have each others msn. But then later I tried to access, only the download didn't pop up saying save, open etc. it just downloaded straight away. I crapped myself and i scanned and everything and there were hundreds of files everywhere  I didn't have a clue wtf it was but my friend told me that it was just all the hidden files were showing or something. But it never done any harm to my pc in the end :)

You should never be clicking random stuff like that online (whether in an email, IM convo or whatever. Now as for the problem, i can't really help if i don't know what it is, like others said use a virus scanner and try to figure out what it was (or if you still have the file that you downloaded, what is it called). If you computer is already infected and you didnt have any security (i.e. virus protection) removing the virus could be more tricky (i could be wrong here, i know a lot of older virus scanners used to not catch viruses if they were already on the PC before installing the scanner, however this may have changed as virus scanners got better). I havent had a virus on my computer ever ( i have cleaned up many, many virues on firends and family computers though, but i dont let any of them run a PC without adequate security. You could try a system restore like someone said but i've never had luck with that when helpign out others, ( the virus makes so many changes that a restore wont get rid of it, many are rooted to deeply). If it is a nasty infection you will have to reformat, if you don't know what that means spend some time googlign around to get some guides on how to reinstall windows (it is easy, i could do it in my sleep, but if it is your first time it could cause some headaches). Once you have your machine up and running again you'll need security. Get an anti virus program (if you want free go with AVG, my personal fav right now is bit Defender (around $20 a year), a lot of people will suggest norton, i wouldn't at all, when they just did virus scannign they were could but Norton is more bloat then anything these days). You'll also want adware/spyware protection, since one program won't find everything i like Adaware and Spy Bot (Windows Defender is ok). I personally hate software firewalls, i find them to be a huge headache, especcially for less savvy users, plus you never get the security that you get from a hardware firewall (i.e. a router).

what does it do? just a bunch of popups and stuff?
well usually you can never REALLY get rid of them once they're on there, but heres a ways to make those ones that come up at startup go away.
after logging in, press ctrl+alt+del, right click on the application that shouldn't be up, click go to process and see what it's called. now click start, run, type msconfig, go to the startup tab, uncheck that process from startup. do this for any and all things that startup unnecessarily.

Whiel msconfig is a good way to find some (easy) virus or virus components it is compleltey possible to get rid of viruses (without a reformat). Either you use a virus scanner and tools it has to remove it, or manually dig around to get rid of it (most likely in safe mode, it is easier to get rid of stuff in safe mode).

I got this like a month ago. It starts duplicating and sends itself to everyone on your contatc list. I'm not sure what it does to your PC, but I got it covered by using the System Restore

I love system restore, dearly, I downloaded one of those FREE TRIAL movie converters, then moments later, I opened task manager to see it flooded with IEXPLORE.exe not explorer, and was watching my CPU usage and internet traffic shoot up, then started crapping myself, then did a system restore. Definately my favorite feature of Windows.
