I'm going to kick myself - but I read your other post in the link and was wondering
"The 2nd horseman of is going to ride and the second cataclysm is going to befall earth.First one was the tsunami"
"there are only 3 horse man aka reptilians, greys and vulturites"
So does that mean the tsunami was caused by a lizard thing?
The basic nature of capitalism is predatory ,since the strong dollar is dead the investors started to put their money on basic goods such as cereals or oil This high demand produces artificially shortage and raises on the prices .Comeback Lenin your are forgiven
Erm. I haven't noticed a food shortage.
Anyway, we always have Soylent Green. Endless source of protein.
You're like Nostradamus only you predict when something is already beginning to happen. :o
OK, I'm gonna get into this act. I predict a global meltdown of financial markets the likes of which have never been seen before sometime in the next 20 years.8)

They have been predicting a food shortage for the past few years, you're not exactly up to date are you.Nwordjohn
It would seem not.
And I thought that you were leaving us TC. Could not stay away I take it.

There is no food rationing going on here in the UK, unless you would like to provide some proof?

It's such a crazy cycle.
Everyone complained that we were addicted to oil, so now farmers are making a killing growing Corn for Ethanol.
Since corn is the top crop now, other food crops are dwindling in favor of the fuel-crops.
At the same time, Oil companies are afraid of losing profits to farmers, so they hike up the price of gas, even though oil consumption is DOWN and demand is DOWN.
So the result?
Less food, more expensive food, more expensive oil and a whole planet of ticked off people.
It's time for water/solar powered vehicles.
Food shortages are not new dude. I predict they'll be another one in the future. I predict an earthquake, floods, volcano eruptions, political unrest, and war.
Bet they all come true too.;)
this "shortage" of food and rice seems like another BS claim, like that of a shortage of oil, to raise prices for "limited supply"
I'd be more worried if we had a water shortage. At the same time, as for a food shortage... If I ever run out of food ill just walk into the woods and shoot a deer.NwordjohnThe deer are already planning to eat you.

By Rationing do you mean the limit of EIGHT placed on 50lbs or largers bags of Rice at Sam's Club and Costco in the States?
Maybe he saw that Jews haven't been buying bread lately, and reached the conclusion that there must be a food shortage.Zagrius
well there was a recent report that Sam's CLub & Costco are going to limit a certain number of bulk bags of rice per customer due to a supposed shortage, but even that I think is a spoof. TC is making it sound like he means FOOD in general, which would still be even more BS than just rice
You told us you weren't coming to gamespot anymore and were offering your account to someone....Brainkiller05
He loves us too much to ever actually do it.

A Costco Rep said yesterday the limit was not as a result of a shortage of product, but as a result of resturants trying to stay ahead of a potental increase in Rice going in and buying 100+ 50lbs bags of rice and cleaning out their stock which led to complaints by normal customers,
The stated their ability to get the product was the same as it has always been, its just the demand as a result of these bulk buys has increased it 10 fold.

you're right. NPR had a report on it. it's not because the US lacks rice. we product twice as much rice as we eat. prices are higher but we don't lack supply.
here's the report.

Will we live long enough to see The Dark Knight?
Germany said that a rush to cut subsidies could leave the EU unable to feed itself. "We have to make sure that we can provide this continent with food sustainability and make sure that we produce enough to combat poverty in the developing world," Horst Seehofer, the German Agriculture Minister, said. Umm, this is probably not very important or even relevant. But I find it annoying that we are supplying the third world with food, when what we should be doing is providing a level playing field for trade so they can produce the damned food themselves.deepdreamer256
I agree mostly the "Third World" does produce food enough for itself. The EU isn't funding them or helping them out at all. Subsidies is money paid to EU farmers to produce food that they otherwise wouldn't be producing. It's a protectionist policy, designed to over produce food for the EU. Essentially it hurts "Third World" economies many of which are agriculture based as they can't get into the EU markets to sell their food. Even when they do get in, they find it much harder to compete competitively because of the EU's protectionist policies which safeguard EU farmers.
Any surpluses which may arise can then be sold in poorer markets in the "third world". The farmers of these nations can't compete against the billion Euro and dollar subsidised food of the EU and NA and thus can't compete with their prices. It forces them out of the agriculture industry. The EU system is a purely protectionist one, the official name of which is the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The poorer markets find it harder to fight back in the form of tariffs because of economic leverage from the EU nations on all manner of other goods that are traded. It isn't fair but that's the international trading system for you.
EU subsidies deny Africa's farmers of their livelihood.
Good article on EU Common Agricultural Policy protectionism.
The CAP is an overblown economic instrument that does very little to keep prices for food down in the EU and does even less for farmers of the "third world".

No if you read the story they are not talking about food shortage they are talking about rice.
"Global rice prices have more than doubled in the past year partly because countries such as China and India — whose economies are booming — are buying more food from abroad. At the same time, key rice producers banned exports of rice to ensure that their own people could continue to afford to buy the staple: India, China, Vietnam and Egypt have all blocked exports and so demand for rice from countries such as the United States has increased." - The Australian
Info? what info? Who are these horses and what is the rapture?
The more you post the more I wonder - have you taken your medication today?
