"Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter."

maybe he should apologize to all the dogs he killed and maimed for is own profit. Personally i hope he gets a good 3-6 years in prison, along with being banned from the nfl for life.

Yes he will. Otherwise they'd be saying that it's better to kill dogs than bet on the sport.

If he's not banned for life and comes back to the NFL and my team the Redskins where to pick him up, I would not be a Redskins fan anymore.

Jesus, I love dogs just as much as the next guy, but this story has received more press than some of the most pressing issues facing HUMANITY. I realize that the guy has to be punished but some people have taken this story to a whole new level, especially the PETA maniacs I have seen on T.V. I'm pretty sure they care more about dogs than human beings.

Why do people always say he deserves more time... hes getting the amount of time thats thought to be sufficient by the district atourny.

we already cover the horrible acts humans commit againts humans.

how often do you have a story about a influential athlete killing and fighting helpless animals for his own profit and enjoyment?

dog fighting and animal fighting in general is a HUGE problem in the U.S and around the world. Personally i dont think it gets close to enough coverage.

personally i think plea deals in general are sick. i am just as much disgusted in the other people involved in this crime as vick is.

but vick denied, lied, and tried to wiggle his way out, thats why im especially outraged at him. at least the other guys fessed up.

We breed dogs into a life of reliance and imprisonment. What is so benevolent about that? I also don't see how it can even be considered anything close to a huge problem when hundreds of people have already been murdered in Philadelphia, right near my home. We dedicate valuable crime-fighting assets to combating dog fighting when human beings are suffering, the world over.

i agree with this. even if they let him back to the nfl, no organization would want him playing.

i know bad press is usually good press, but there are a few things that are exluded from this (animal cruelty is one)

Just because he's a celebrity? Any body else who did what he did would be in prison for a long time, no questions asked. Vick should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Good to see all that money won't get him a free pass. I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL sent him a note to the effect of "If you don't make this all go away we're not going to be happy when we get our shot at you..."

I don't know about banned but the NFL will have to significantly punish him. A ban, or at least a suspension that effectively bans him, is still in the cards IMO. The NFL has had some image issues lately and they've got a product to sell and can't afford to have guys like this tarnish it.

vick is just a street thug who finally got caught. He should be punished like any normal citizen would. I know that most Georgia citizens would be put in jail for many years if caught in this kind of operation. So Vick deserves nothing better.

At least he won't be playing for the Falcons, if Blanks has a brain. He looked him right in the eye and told him he had nothing to do with this dog fighting ring and also lied to the Commissioner. After his jail time he'll probably find some team dumb enough and desperate enough to sign him. Or, he'll take a year or two in the CFL, like Ricky Williams did.

According to a leading ESPN analyst he might not play football again until 2010. That gives him 1-2 years jail time and a 1 year NFL suspension. Almost killing his career. If he comes back and wants to play, any team who is even remotely thinking about picking him up and giving him a second chance is taking a risk.

Ok you see I really do think that he should be going to jail, for a LITTLE bit and not play again in the NFL. I mean sure if you love a dog like its ur son, and someone runs him over cuz they wern't paying attenion your not going to sue them, or make them go to jail. If anything maybe buy a new puppy. But I do think that 3-6 years is a little harsh, however that max $250,000 fine, would not be out of the question considering his financial status. As for the NFL, I hope and think that he should never play in the NFL again

The whole good guy / bad guy junk is relative. I haven't met Osama Bin Ladin either but I still want to see him pay for his crimes. I'm certainly not trying to compare Vick to Osama, just pointing out that I don't give a crap whatVick does with the rest of his life. He could spend all of his spare time building orphanages with one hand and feeding the homeless with the other. The dude did terrible terrible things andneeds to pay for it, dearly. Anyone who displays this particular brand of cruelty deserves what they get.

If he get's six years and never plays ball again I'd consider him lucky.

I agree, fighting Penguins is so much more entertaining.
