Oh for shame. If you had logic, your logic would have enabled you to understand what people mean when they say "religions persecute". The people represent the religion, and do the persecution in it's name. Hooray for logic.

I know what people mean. . . .and they're wrong, both grammatically and practically. The people don't represent the religion; the religion's rules do. You of all people should know that. . . .you've been talking to a gay Christian for about an hour and a half.
Some sects don't let women become monks, ie gender persecution. This religion has also been around a very long time, so it's likely at some point there has been persecution.
Name a person who has not persecuted another at some point in time in one form or another? So long as humanity participates in religion, there will be persecution of other humans. It's a matter of human's fallibility, not religion's.
