ThirdedMaster Of Puppets. Its massively overrated.Ride The Lightning is miles better than it.
I'd also agree with Dark Side of the Moon somewhat. And Nevermind... Bleach is far better than Nevermind.
somehow i knew someone was gonna say master of puppets. i guess someone needs to feel individualistic and hip by demonizing something else everyone likes (kinda like those people who say final fantasy 7 is terrible)
being a music afficianado i can't really find something thats THAT overrated (aside from bands) i'm not terribly fond of some albums but i can appreciate the musicianship inherently in them.
If it's something that is loved by millions of people who am I to say their oppinion is wrong.Serraph105
When I say overrated, I really don't mean to say the way most people feel about it is wrong; I'm more or less saying that I just don't feel the way they do. People cannot have an incorrect opinion.
Because yeah, I totally said that to make myself feel so much better.somehow i knew someone was gonna say master of puppets. i guess someone needs to feel individualistic and hip by demonizing something else everyone likes (kinda like those people who say final fantasy 7 is terrible)

Eh, I never really liked Master of Puppets, or Metallica in general:|
Besides, saying people who disagree with you "[need] to feel individualistic and hip by demonizing something else everyone likes" is kind of a douchy thing to say... especially because it's usually not true.
In Rainbows was good but far overatedps3wizard45I think it's an excellent album worthy of all the praise it got. :?

ThirdedI have to agree with this also, good album, but not the best of that period of floyd.Everythin from Nine Inch Nails from Pretty Hate Machine to The Slip. Funny thing is I love Trent, I just don't think he's that good he has a cult following. dj_pulserfanAt least The Slip was free, though. Can't complain about a free album.

If anything albums like The Fragile are underrated. It is a difficult album to get into, and so many critical opinions at the time, and even today by naysayers are the product of not having enough time to get to grips with the material.
As for the cult following, see what we are like on the nin.com forums. All gushy, and it is all down to mainly one thing. The effect of the music in our lives.
Anyway, in answer to the overall question "Unknown Pleasures" gets my space. Not because it is a bad album, I love it... but I find it takes the glory away from, what is in my mind, the superior "Closer".

I think Closer is a better album too. You're a big movie fan too as well... I was meaning to ask you, have you seen Control?I think Closer is a better album too. You're a big movie fan too as well... I was meaning to ask you, have you seen Control?-Misanthropic-
Yeah, it is without a doubt the best biopic of Joy Division that could have been made, and the black and white filming suits it really brilliantly. The ending, even though you know how it ends, is genuinely moving.

I mean don't get me wrong. I LOVE NIN! I mean I love what he's done for music, the idustrial genre & his innovations that made us rethink music in such a short time.
I love how when his record label screwed he fans over he told them feel free to pirate his music. I love that set up a remix site for us to take his music and re-engineer it how we feel. He's a great man but I don't think it's enough for people bow at his feet like they do. You samwel_X is how I picture a fan of NIN would be :)
Hmmm...did you try listening to Kill 'Em All? The only overrated track on that IMO is Seek And Destroy, and that's still a deadly song. =Pimo ANYTHING by metalica. i think anything metalica touches, makes, thinks about, talks about, is just simply overrated

i may be wrong but it seems like anything that has to do with metalica is relevantly popular like i said i may be wrong seeing how i dont know much about metalica i dont want to speak from a ignorant point of view.
i guess everything ive experienced with the band i dont like and i feel like everyone else is obsessed with them.
While I love Radiohead, and find all of their albums great, I'd say OK Computer.
Don't get me wrong it's a great album, but It seems to me like it's the only album people seem to like by Radiohead.

It's certainly my favorite, but mostly through what it means to me.
I'd have to say Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, and Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division. Both are great albums but the number of people that absolutely worship them is insane.
