It implemented an early system of morals and sets of laws, that while not universal, served its purpose for the community at hand to define themselves.

Vaccines, antibiotics, cures to many major diseases, the f***ing computer, pretty much everything that makes modern life comfortable.

The entirety of medicine throughout history can only be attributed to the scientific method (figure out what is causing something, and apply a solution that fixes it that has been discovered, through rigorous testing, to work).

Technically, science has done everything for humanity. People may attribute it to other things, but the scientific method is at the heart of all human discoveries.
