Need a fancy song for guitar to learn and impress peers.

Hi there how are you.

Ive been playing guitar for about 8 years, but lately ive been making my own stuff instead of learning someone elses, and that NEEDS TO CHANGE.
The last time i asked OT for a fancy guitar song, they suggested Asilos Magdelena(tabs here) and although i wasnt a fan of the song originally i like it more now that i can play it :P

I would prefer acoustic, and c|assical... but ill play anything as long as it doesnt involve an amp + shredding. Any thoughts?

OK... some nice, fun and pretty challenging (although nottoo challenging) classical/acoustic guitar pieces:

Recuerdos De La Alhambra by Francisco Tarrega is my absolute favourite piece to play. Ever. OK, it's pretty difficult but once you get the tremolo picking down, it's not as hard as you might think. Definitely worth a shot anyway.

You want a fancy guitar song but not if has shredding. You do know shredding pretty much just means it's technically impressive and/or fast right? So are you asking for a fancy sounding guitar song that isn't hard to play then?

You want a fancy guitar song but not if has shredding. You do know shredding pretty much just means it's technically impressive and/or fast right? So are you asking for a fancy sounding guitar song that isn't hard to play then?

Yeah but it's pretty rare unless you're talking about a few particular clas*s*ical pieces. By eliminating shredding he's eliminating the majority of hard pieces to play.

EDIT: Just wanted to add, your choice by Tommy Emmanuel was one of the better I've seen. Also, I was more going of the fact that he said that Mars Volta song was "fancy", but for someone who has played guitar for eight years should be able to learn that thing in a couple days or less.

dark eternal night by dream theater, its a song with a lot of variety and a solo thats so ridiculous that if you can pull it off im pretty sure you could impress almost anyone
