So i have a bit of a nuisance in my house. He is a drug addict who steals and does drugs in my bathroom. He has stolen countless items and we have never got them back. We have tried to kick him out, i mean literally throwing his clothes out on the street. Hes been to jail. Everybody keeps giving him chances even though he just messes up over and over again. I need help if all of you don't mind. Does anybody have any suggestions?

*Note* We have called the cops and they wont do anything about it.

Is he paying rent? Why can't you kick him out? If he's doing illegal drugs talk to your landlord, or if it's your house (you own it) and he's still there, talk to a lawyer if the police won't do anything. If he doesn't own the house, he can be evicted. Kick him out, change the locks, and post an advisory to him on the door that he is trespassing and needs to leave immediately or the police will be called. I'm assuming though, that this is probably a family member and you probably live with your parents and it's them who won't kick him out for good. In that case, move out or call child services if you're a minor and have yourself removed and put into foster care until you turn 18 if he's so bad.

Well its an owned house and when we have kicked him out he just comes back. The cops just say well hes living here. He takes the car after hiurs if begging andeven if we reported the car stolen the cops just say you gave him permission so theres nothing we can do about it. The only other thing i can think of is a sting operation..

I didn't ask if it was an owned house, I asked if it was owned by YOU, or by another person owned by you. This is your 16 year old brother in your parents' home, isn't it? Tell your parents to grow a sack. If their kid walks over them it's nobody's doing but theirs.

Had the same problem with my cousin. Dude was doing crystal meth and throwing parties all night, stealing, etc. Finally started calling the cops every time he showed up. Haven't seen him in years.

If you have a problem with it, you are 23 years old. Pack your crap and LEAVE. Get a roommate, find a place. If you don't want to deal with your spineless parents taking him back in and causing sh*t, get out. You are an adult. Leave.

Try to get him to check into rehab or something. I don't think kicking him out will be good for him, he might just wind up on the street and hanging out with other druggies.

You have to legally give an eviction notice - you can't legally kick out anyone from their home.

He said they have called the cops and they haven't done anything about it. What you need to do is kick his ass. Seriously dude, beat the sh*t out of him. That is the only way to deal with these kind of people.

Well because he called the cops to kick out a child... You can't kick out a child, anyone for that matter without an eviction notice, which grants them like 30days.

Huh, is he paying rent or something or is he really a minor? If he isn't either of those things and he keeps coming back kick his ass.

If he isn't a minor and steps on your property (and isn't a paying tenant) then beat sh*t out of him. Seriously. Fvck him up.

Good, now everyone gets arrest and the person can live in an empty house for free without an eviction notice.

If he steps on his property without the owners consent and refuses to leave then physical force is justified.

Sorry, didnt read the whole thing. I would think not only calling them, you have to FILE CHARGES against said delinquent. Second, I would think that there are terms of agreement on him living there. (lease, etc>?) Landlords should be aware and get a lawyer. Or just call Tony down the street like everyone else is saying...lol.

Yeah filing charges would be number one. And on your second point that is not exactly what is clear. Is the delinquent a paying tenant or is he just some shmuck. Obviously, beating someone up isn't the smartest idea. But if you pay the mortgage or your landlord says the guy does not belong on the property and the cops already know about him but keeps showing up, then chances are you could kick his ass and get away with it. It would feel great too. Files charges. If he doesn't obey those and keeps coming back then fvck him up I say. It will feel good. Then file charges against him again.

Get a restraining order.  If you can prove that you don't feel safe around him, despite your constant efforts at asking him to leave/leave you alone then a judge should have no issue with granting your request.

Show cops a restraining order that he's violating and they'll do something about it, guaranteed.

File legal action against him and get him evicted. It's not that hard if he's committing all those crimes.

If he is family you can't kick his ass. You have to file charges. Get restraining orders. Put him in rehab. I mean, if you have no moral conflict against kicking his ass then go right ahead and do it.

I don't know man. I think it's better if you try and help him instead of abandoning him. Drug addicts can't think straight. They can't make it on their own, they need other people to help them. Believe me, I know how frustrating can this be to you and your family. I've been there. I'm not judging you and I mean no offence here. Not all of us can afford the time, money or patience to deal with other people's issues.
