I've been playing the electric guitar for over a year and I know a few songs, but I've been getting frustrated at not being able to do a solo. I learn how to play Tom Sawyer and my guitar tutor tells me that it's almost impossible to play it exactly the was Alex Lifeson plays. I need a suggestion for a song to learn, because I always seen to be roadblocked by the solo, and im not that great at reading tabs for solos. Could I please get a song suggestion with a tab?

And Im pretty good at alternate picking and I need a good tab for assassin by muse.

Snow & Under the Bridge- Red Hot Chili Peppers. Learning those will really improve your finger accuracy and speed for playing. And they aren't super hard or anything so its a good place for a first year player.
