the aliens came to earth as refugees from their planet. they came for shelter and protection untill they can get back home. but the government dosnt want them to leave so they can control their alien technology for weapons use. and the people of africa want them out.
This sucks, i thought it was suppose to be a mockumentary, Neill Blomkamp short films,not Transformers 3.

im pretty damn sure that was most of the action we will see in the movie :P.
you gotta face the facts that when most people think alien movie they want to see crap blow up. this isnt that kind of movie. so they need to advertise it as one.
plus the short film had robot suits in the first place.

The original District 9 is exactly like this trailer - first half is a mockumentary, then it turns into reportage sty1e action footage. His other important short films follow the same pattern.
