Okay, I live in NH, and my bus driver told my friend who was getting his liscense soon (he got it today) that on June/July (Idk when) there will be a new bill passed stating that the new age for a drivers liscense is...17!?!?!?!?!! This sucks if it is true...I've heard rumors, like, "it was suggested, then turned down","it's still up in the air," and stuff. I cant find news of it anywhere. Does anyone know about this??? I was looking forward to getting my liscense next year... :(

They tried that here in Massachusetts but couldn't get enough support for it. They ended up making stricter laws, but the age here remained 16 1/2 minimum for a liscence.

Yeah, that was one of the rumors...we have to be 15 1/2 to "get" our permit, and 16 by the end of the drivers ed class to get our liscense.

In Massachusetts its 16 for permit and 16 1/2 for a liscence, and they were thinking about making it 17 for a permit. It wouldn't have affected me though, as I already had my permit at the time.

It's 17 here in Jersey, and many restrictions too. Which is good, because the idea of seeing 15 and 16 year olds on the roads scare me.

For me, its more the kids who have no fear in them whatsoever, the very ones who drive 70-80 down back roads...

The real bummer is, I was only a year away from a liscense, and now I will be two. It's much bigger of an impact if you view it that way, like, I was soooo close, then it was taken away from me.

I honestly think they should raise the age to have a driver's license to 18 everywhere. too many kids are reckless on the road.

Well if the law has not been passes yet, you should not worry yet. Just promise me you won't be driving 70-80 down back streets and driving drunk... like many of the kids in my school...

If thats the case...dont come to Arkansas. Here, its 14 for a permit, and 16 for license. When i was 14, i was thinking hell yeah I get to drive, but now, i'm worried, looking at the 14 year olds here, they dont seem mature enough to operate something that can endanger so many lives. It's a scary thought.

That could be one of the scariest things ove ever heard, I would never drive there if i knew 14 year olds could get behind the wheel:|

But in New Hampshire you don't have to carry auto insurance. A winner is you.
