shut down as in shut down the entire site. this will be international. Since when does the United States judicial system effect other laws from other countries?[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]Proxy. Problem solved.Omega-316

This is stupid & ridiculous. Why are they wasting time with this nonsense when they could've been focusing on REAL problems such as fixing this economy & creating more jobs for the U.S.?
This country is surely going to hell in a handbasket.
If you have watched the video, you would have realized that letting this bill go will DESTROY jobs, right??This is stupid & ridiculous. Why are they wasting time with this nonsense when they could've been focusing on REAL problems such as fixing this economy & creating more jobs for the U.S.?

Facebook has international servers.
Saw the same video about 20 minutes ago. The whole idea of this bill just makes me sick to my stomach, but our government is so corrupt, I won't be surprised if this gets passed.

I know. This is crazy stuff. WE'RE ALL DOOMED!
What!? I will not stand for such monstrosity :x what are they thinking by making this bill? Youtube and Twitter are so important these days that people basically need it in some cases to survive.
Don't we have bigger problems to worry about?alexside1
Problems bigger than the internet? Nah, I doubt it :P
Finally, someone agrees with me.What!? I will not stand for such monstrosity :x what are they thinking by making this bill? Youtube and Twitter are so important these days that people basically need it in some cases to survive.

Like the guy in the video, for instance. He makes a living off of youtube.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Letting this bill pass will destroy more jobs. That's one of the reasons why we don't want this to happen.
shut down as in shut down the entire site. this will be international. They would relocate all servers outside of the US, problem solved. All it would do is remove many jobs in the US, which wouldn't be very smart to do, it's like shooting yourself in the foot.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]Proxy. Problem solved.Omega-316
Its because of "piracy and everything, the problem is that the bill is too broadly-wordedWhat!? I will not stand for such monstrosity :x what are they thinking by making this bill? Youtube and Twitter are so important these days that people basically need it in some cases to survive.

Again, why are they wasting time by trying to pass a questionable bill when there's an economy that needs to be fixed?...
Palantas
Man, if just they hadn't drafted this bill. They could have fixed the economy instead. So close...
I agree. I just think that the ones that are currently running the government needs to be replaced by a bunch of competent people that knows what the hell they're doing, instead of focusing on efforts trying to destroy entertainment sites (like Youtube) & socializing sites (like Facebook, Twitter, Google+) which are the least of our problems.

Nothing is getting shutdown, in fact everything this bill affects is already illegal.

shut down as in shut down the entire site. this will be international. Nothing would be shutdown, viewing youtube is not illegal and wouldn't be under this law. In fact, everything in this bill is already illegal and some videos with copyrighted material are already removed from youtube or not able to be viewed here. In fact, other nations do this too only in other legal realms. Check out Australia and Germany's censorship of video games.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]Proxy. Problem solved.Omega-316
