New Judge Dredd movie in production

It's simply titled "Dredd" this time and won't have anything to do with the one Sly starred in. Hopefully this one will be to the previous release as Batman Begins was to Batman and Robin.

I actually [spoiler] kinda liked [/spoiler] Judge Dredd. Though I want to like every Sci-Fi out of principle. That movie had so much potential!! If they just didn't have such DUMB Judge suits ... it was like watching a serious episode of Voltron or Power Rangers.

And it was better than Battlefield Earth .... *shudders* :(

Mixed reaction from this. On the one hand I do like to see Karl Urban play the role as Dredd considering that unlike the previous one, the left side of his jaw is capable of forming coherent speech. And I would very much like to see them attempt a Dredd movie. On the other hand i've seen some pictures, particularly of Dredd's helmet which does look really cheese though still not nearly as bad as original Judge Dredd. The motorcycle on the other hand? That just looks cheap. The one from the old movie was much better looking. So in otherwords, hoping to see this one do well enough to make good money while being decent with the critics(oh yeah and keeping me entertained and stuff).

I loved the Stallone version of Judge Dredd. It was so cheesy I couldn't help but like it.
