Opinions? And no, I'm not trying to insinuate anything by posting this. I simply

want to see what you all think about it. Personally, I think it is.

They probably didn't mean to be racist, though it certainly sounds racist when that guy says "too easy..."

Though the "too easy" was probably meant to say that "This chicken is so good, that it isn;t hard for it to be a crowd pleaser", but could be easily misconstrued to mean "it's easy to get black people to eat fried chicken."

Agreed, but the one part that gets me is when he says he's in an awkward situation.

Okay, so, a lot of black people = awkward situation? Hmmm...

To anyone that thinks the littlest things are racist or stereotypical than of course. To anyone else its just a freaking commercial, and all the black people I know think its a joke to run around talking about how they love the stereotypical black foods... like chicken, watermelon, grape pop, etc.

Implying that blacks like fried chicken isn't really racist. It's a stereotype and everyone loves fried chicken.

(am I a bad person for laughing? :P)

Well I don't think it intended to be racist but I can see how it might come off that way if you're not an Aussie. If you are an Aussie however it would make sense, you're the only one in a crowd supporting your cricket team so it's an awkward situation but KFC comes to the rescue and makes you socially acceptable.

I don't know, I personally don't think they meant it as racist in any manner, but I can see how the american mind could take offense.

Hmmm, possibly because it's in another country and they do things differently. From my perspective I could say "Since when does KFC have mashed potatoes and biscuits?", because they are nowhere to be found in my area.

well yeah that makes more sense then, probably just a good idea that can be seen as wrong, and because it was aired to the australian public they would probably get its not racist

It's only racist if you look at it that way. It sort of gives you the idea that you can make black people happy by giving them buckets of fried chicken

Is offensively stereotypical and racist the same category? Hmm.

As a Black American, I think it was overtly offensive, BUT I also think it was done on purpose to exploit the stereotype and get people talking about the brand (any publicity is good publicity? smh). But there was more than just the Fried Chicken stereotype, there were the happy-loud-drum slapping-dancing stereotypes.

I don't like it, but I'm not gonna say it is racist just yet. An odd marketing tactic.

I live in the United States and last I checked none of my local KFCs had fries. Could be a regional thing. Kinda like how in America Taco Bell serves tacos and what-not but in Mexico they serve burgers and fries.

No, though I could see where people might see it as "racist". To me, he was saying that he wasn't fitting in with the situation, and to ease his uncomfortability, busted out the KFC, which I would imagine anyone who eats meat would like.

How is that stereotypical? If you think so then you are probably racist as well. Normally black people would see this as offensive while caucasians won't since the main character is, himself, white.

PS. It does seem like Australia vs West Indies in cricket and I have to say West Indians do love KFC.
