Part of me hoped that maybe, maybe Metallica would regain the fame they once deserved. But nope. This song is absolutely ****.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
They have been caught in the mainstream wave, and hammet's voice is really bad now IMO.RushMetallica

Sweet avatar.
Thanks. Yours too, Ordo Ad Chao was pretty good.
Yup, DMDS and Ordo are my two Mayhem faves. Very different, but both unique.
I only liked their Justice for all CD. the rest IMHO are lame fastesttruck
You did not just call Master of Puppets, Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning "lame". I refuse to believe that.
Yeah... If I could listen to old Metallica (though I didn;t like it much) the new Metallica completely blows. My biggest prolem with them is the lead singer. CAN"T STAND HIM. I just really want that instead of Cliff Burton, he was killed in the bus accident....XanderKage
The drumming has gone way awful (St. Anger: Sounded like me as a three year old playing with cutlery). The guitar has some decent riffs, the problem is, it has one riff and uses it for the whole bloody song. And yeah, the vocals are craptastic.

I agree with Kill 'Em All, it had some good track, I didn't hear Ride the Lightning, but Master of Puppets... The song I mean. If the song was cut in half, it would be much better than the end result. It starts great, but about half way through it has the solo, or something, and after that the song just sucks...
I think the black album was there last good album;)ShamrockRovers
Black Album formed the bridge from good to bad. It's a bit in between, with a few good and a few bad tracks.

Never judge an album from a song. Master of Puppets is about the whole album experience. It all just flows. I can see why you don't like the song if oyu just listen to it on its' own. You need every song, from the whole album to enjoy the masterpiece known as Master of Puppets :)
Ok i'm forced to point this out again.... that is NOT metallica.Ninja-Hippo
It's not? :|

No. It's a band called Eternal Decision. Somebody just put their songs up on YouTube as Metallica demos because the singer's voice is slightly similar, and folks keep falling for it.
Those track titles arent even on the new album.

I can safely say that I fell for it. Damn.
On the other hand, yay. Maybe there's still hope.

Unless there's reason to believe they are doing a complete turnaround to their thrash roots, there is no hope.
