The trailer reminded me of Training Day but without Denzel. Considering Denzel is the only reason worth watching Training Day, I can't say I'm very interested in this.JML897i didnt see the trailer but its from the same makers of "training day." From what i've seen, it can be a sleeper so ill look out for it.

Hell it might be.
Michael K. Williams (aka Omar from the Wire) is in it so that means I am automatically gonna watch it.

Judging by how much screentime he gets in the trailer and how far down he is on the IMDB cast list, I'm expecting him to be in this movie for only a minute or something. :(
I guess Clay Davis has a part too.

Yeah...but look at it this way.
Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford were both in The Fugitive. They were both good in The Fugitive. Someone had the idea to do a spinoff of The Fugitive starring the lesser-liked actor from the Fugitive. That movie was called "US Marshals" and I've heard that it sucked. Wouldn't know though, since I never had the interest or desire to bother watching it (even though I really liked The Fugitive).
Now...suppose that this is a spinoff of Training Day. Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington were both good in Training Day, I'll admit. But if Denzel Washington was Harrison Ford, then Ethan Hawke is Tommy Lee Jones. Good, but no one gave a **** about him.
If this is actually a Training Day spinoff, then it's gonna fail. It will either fail because it's a lame and unoriginal and pointless continuation of characters that no one gives a **** about, or it will actually be GOOD (while still failing because no one gives a **** about watching a Training Day sequel starring the dude who played second fiddle to Denzel Washington).
Hey, remember Speed? Remember how people liked that movie? Remember how it had Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, and how people liked both Reeves and Bullock? Well...Bullock was playing second fiddle to Reeves. It was Reeves' movie (and Dennis Hopper's). Get rid of Reeves and no one gives a ****. Because Sandra Bullock is like Robin. She only works when she's Batman's sidekick. Give her her own movie, and no one gives a flying ****.
And the same applies to Ethan Hawke in Training Day.
Ethan Hawke was GOOD, sure. But most people really just cared about Denzel Washington and how much of an ass he was being. That was most of the movie. Do a spinoff with Ethan Hawke, and no one is going to give a ****.
