Guys! I'm leaving in about 2 hours and will be gone to the beach for 5 days. Before I'd go, I'd like to download some new albums to listen too while I'm chillin. I want you guys to look at some of the albums I already have and tell me what you think I would like. Of course, you don't have to if you don't want too...but it would be nice.:D Scratch that, I don't have time. Here are the artists. You don't have to read them all, but I would prefer it.

ACDC, Aerosmith, Against Me!, Avenged Sevenfold, Angels and Airwaves, Alkaline Trio, Audioslave, Blink-182, The Bravery, Breaking Benjamin, Daft Punk, The Clash, Circa Survive, Chevelle, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab for Cutie, Deftones, Dream Theater, Dropkick Murphys, The Expendables, Foo Fighters, Flyleaf, The Hives, Hot Rod Circuit, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, Jose Gonzales, The Killers, Klaxons, Joy Division, LCD Soundsystem, Led Zeppelin, Lupe Fiasco, Massive Attack, Muse, My Chemical Romance, Nickleback, Nirvana, The Offspring, Panic! At the Disco, Paramore, Pink Floyd, Queens of the Stoneage, R.E.M., Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Rush, Saosin, Silversun Pickups, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Staind, The Strokes, Taking Back Sunday, Thousand Foot Krutch, Three Days Grace, A Tribe Called Quest, U2, Van Halen, We the Kings, Weezer, The White Stripes, The Who, Wolfmother, Yellowcard, ZZ Top, 30 Seconds to Mars.

Please help me out...

Do you have all/most of the albums for those bands?
I'd recommend doing that, for getting the music fast, and not having to test new bands out.

Don't think you had them; do you like Linkin Park? Try them/ get some of their albums.

(Do you have all of Rise Against's stuff? This Is Noise and Siren Song Of The Counter Culture are both really good albums)

Good, good. :)

Anyway. My help now is pretty much non-existant.. Most of the stuff you listed is all I have.

..Perhaps Evanescence?

Edit: For more of the same stuff... You got +44 and Box Car Racer?

I'm surprised there's no Radiohead on that list? Listen to Ok Computer and The Bends.

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - http://www.myspace.com/tedleo

I can't stress enough how awesome this guy and his band are. They will be right up your alley too. They make catchy, poppy rock and roll songs with relevant and intelligent lyrics. My friend recommended them to me and I've been hooked. I even saw them open for the Dropkick Murphys last March and now they are on tour with Pearl Jam. I only have two of their cds at the moment, but I'm gonna track the rest down soon.

Songs to check out include...

"Me and Mia"
"Angel's Share"
"Sons of Cain"
"Who do you Love?"

Thanks for all the bands guys! I just got back from the beach (a lot darker) and unfortunately I didn't have any time to download new albums, but I still had a great time. I plan on hitting up some of these artists you guys reccomended, and I'd actually like to get some more bands, if that's OK.

Will do. I love Who's Next, but haven't heard much else. I'll give that one a listen.

I'm surprised there's no Radiohead on that list? Listen to Ok Computer and The Bends.

Another band I forgot to mention. I had In Rainbows but the files freaked out for some odd reason so now I ain't got jack. I'll definitely download their earlier work when I'm re-downloading In Rainbows.

I don't think Ok Go is worth downloading a whole album.

Pearl Jam.qubert27

Might get a greatest hits compilation.

Bloc Party

Arctic Monkeys

I haven't heard anything from the Smiths, but they've been popping up in my internet searching lately so maybe it's a sign. I've heard the singles from AM and BP and that's enough for me. I don't quite think De La Soul would suit my tastes.

Your enthusiasm has convinced me to give them a listen. I'll tell ya how it goes.

Never heard of Saul Williams or Porcupine Tree. I've heard singles from the other bands, and I like N.E.R.D. I might get some from those 3.

If you like Tribe go d/l Little Brother's "Chitlin Circuit 1.5" and "The Listening". Also Foriegn Exchange-"Connected". Kanye West first cd "College Dropout" is worth a listen too...it kinda shifts focus during the middle though (just warning you), but it picks up at the end. You should give KidZ In The Hall a listen too...they have two albums "School Was My Hustle" and "The IN Crowd"...both are good. Cunninglynguist as well...all their albums own, I like "A Piece of Strange" the best. The Roots...particularly their early stuff...oh and Lupe Fiasco.

Why is there such a lack of Modest Mouse in your list? Download 'Good News for People Who Love Bad News' and 'The Moon and Antarctica'. Also get 'OK Computer', 'In Rainbows', and 'The Bends' from Radiohead.

I have some Modest Mouse singles, but I'll give the albums a try. I also had In Rainbows, which I mentioned earlier.

*Classy bump*

Well, I'm still looking for new music. To the guy that recommended Quadrophenia - thanks. It was really awesome. I listened to it while cleaning out the garage and it made the time fly.

ATM I'm downloading Paramore's first album. I like all of Riot! except for "Misery Business".

I don't know the names of "the big 4 thrash bands", and anything called Cannibal Corpse kinda turns me off. Not really into it...

(Downloading Update - I'm about to look into some early 90's stuff. Specifically Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots.)

In my oppinion the big 4 are better than any band you named. Maybe besides the who and led zepplin.
