You'll probably get to understanding how things run pretty quickly. But like Hobbits this place will surprise you all the time as well.

You'll learn pretty soon that a guy called TheZ3nMan owns this town.TheZ3nMan
What you won't learn is that TheZ3nMan is mearly a puppet for a much more powerful user named Got_to_Go, who decides who's banned and who isn't on a whim. Even if you did, you'd be dismissed as a wild conspiracy theorist. Then you will forever be thought of as a babbling madman.

Thats not the case in General Games or in a lot of other forums. You won't be taken seriously until you've reached at least 10,000 posts here unless you come up with awesome threads such as things race related, religion related, or....either of those.

Good job with the cover up puppet. He's such a diligent worker.

OT used to be great, it was like Cheers... where everyone knew each others name... but with time waves upon waves of new people came and it became too difficult to keep track of the many personalities of OT. ... anyhoo - welcome!
I know! I wish all the noobs would just leave! Who gives a crap about them anyway?

I think this is all stupid whining. I don't understand how more people can be a bad thing. Maybe the new guys wouldn't be so faceless if some people actually tryed to talk to them like they do the vets, instead of automatically labeling them noobs.OT used to be great, it was like Cheers... where everyone knew each others name... but with time waves upon waves of new people came and it became too difficult to keep track of the many personalities of OT. ... anyhoo - welcome![QUOTE="KittyKat"][QUOTE="GrindingAxe"] Its not, but its pretty cool. Sarcasm I presume but your right. I have no problem with the amount of posters here and I have no problem with Mr. New Guy. This place is so big that its impossible to try to know people and be known unless your willing to post all day as well as read posts all day. I'm talking all day as "6 hours of your day you post on Gspot" all day.[QUOTE="Got_to_go"][QUOTE="KittyKat"] OT used to be great, it was like Cheers... where everyone knew each others name... but with time waves upon waves of new people came and it became too difficult to keep track of the many personalities of OT. ... anyhoo - welcome!LZ71

Maybe the new guys wouldn't be so faceless if some people actually tryed to talk to them like they do the vets, instead of automatically labeling them noobs. I wasn't "whining", i was just commenting on the faceless nature of the forum - you can't get to know "everyone" - especially with the large number of people here. It's not a bad thing necessarily, it means more posts and whatnot, just means it's much harder to forge a "personality" and be well known to the forum population without simply spamming the forum for hours on end. I mean, if i really wanted all the "noobs" to leave (say everyone who signed up a year after i did), this forum would be rather empty. You should check out the "How to gamespot" forum. :)2ndWonderYes and definitly give the GameSpot Terms of Use a good read, it's not very long and will help you alot in avoiding needless Moderations. :) Otherwise welcome to GameSpot and I hope you enjoy it here. :)

And anyways, I never mean to say you needed to get to know everyone; I know that's impossible. I just meant trying to get to know some of the new guys, instead of just talking to older users, could help them integrate better, and maybe help them show their personality easier.I know! I post too rarely to get to know people on a forum as fast as this one. In fact, attacks on Tokyo by Godzilla are more common. I'll go months... maybe a year sometimes in between posts and then post rather regularly for a month. Very few remain from my era. /shakes cane[QUOTE="KittyKat"][QUOTE="LZ71"] I think this is all stupid whining. I don't understand how more people can be a bad thing. I was talking more in general terms, about the entire OT, than you or any one individual specificly.
Welcome to the OT. Be careful, it sucks you in and you may end up spending waaay too much time here, but don't worry, you won't be alone in that ;)
