...did I...did Snyder...did he just set a Watchmen trailer to Muse....I....AMAZING!
Great trailer, one that is for those who havent read the graphic novel and can now get a hint of what the plot is.
Looks good but it definitely won't touch the graphic novel. I'm really liking Night Owl's updated suit, though. Also, ewwwwww, Muse! :x

Did I just see...a bomb drop on NY? Oh no. Oh dear God no. No no no no, a thousand times no. If this movie doesn't have the squid, so help me God, my mind will explode. Crypto138
first off spoilers, second what trailer were you watching? The only thing they showed happen was a blast of blue light, probably Dr. Manhattan.
[QUOTE="-Sniper99-"]oh dear lord. why does Rorschach sound like Batman!?:cry:AutoTaco
Well I believe Alan Moore said Rorschach was supposed to be a Batman like character. I feel it fits his character since hes always tyring to be intimidating.
Yeah the voice fits his attitude and his appearance with the mask off.
You know, the more I see from this movie, the more I start to be seriously worried. I liked Dawn of the Dead. I thought that 300 was crap, but I thought that it was well-directed. And when I heard that Zack Snyder was directing Watchmen, I was willing to give it a chance. Early production photos reinforced my hopes. And then, from the second we started seeing the teasers and trailers, my hopes waned.
Â
This crap just plain doesn't feel like Watchmen. It's not dark and gritty, what I've seen so far seems too slick and over-produced. Slow motion bull**** all over the place, it looks too shiny and glossy and artificial. And I'm not even gonna complain about the loss of the "squid". But when I hear them ACTUALLY referring to the characters as "Watchmen", that kind of stuff worries me even more. That's the kind of pandering-to-the lowest-denominator kind of crap that could completely kill this movie.
Â
Â
never mind the loss of the squid.
Â
Â
never mind all the stupid superfluous slow-motion bull****.
Â
Never mind that what I've seen so far looks too slick and stylized. That **** may wok for something like The Crow, but Watchmen ought to look gritty and realistic, and more resemble the visual tone of something like Seven.
Â
But add all that crap up, with the fact that Rorschach actually calls them The Watchmen, and that's another level of crap to worry about. A deliberate changing of stuff NOT because of the impossibility of translating the story exactly from one medium to another, but a deliberate changing of things because the studio is too afraid that audiences are too ****ing stupid to understand the themes of the story.
Â
The book was richly layered. On reading it a second time, I saw a LOT of details and major themes that I didn't even see the first time reading it through. Watchmen is a story that warrants thought and reexamination. And when I see the makers of the film having to change things in order to make the freaking TITLE make sense to the morons in the audience, that worries me.
Â
Anyway, I love the comic books, but the movie looks like ****. I'm seriously turned off at this point. Depending on what I see in the coming months, I very well may not see the movie EVER.Â
I agree with you in many many of your points. I loved the first trailer, it seemed spot on but with each picture, and especialy with this trailer ive gotten worried for the same reasons. People might find it entertaining but if they ruin the atmosphere of Watchmen, then all the fans will be highly disappointed. They better not ruin this, or i would get personaly upset. You know, the more I see from this movie, the more I start to be seriously worried. No, they showed a blast. The blue was just from the teleportation thing.http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/watchmen.html?showVideo=1

It's like The Question acting like Bale's Batman!! Now with 200% more raspiness and gruff!
I just had to say that.
I thought that 300 was crap

*Looks at sig* Hmmm....:|
Well I do have to somewhat agree that the movie looks more like a comic book than the actual comic book itself, but I'm betting that it will at least be a decent film.
It says the most celebrated graphic novel of all time. How do they gauge that, because I would argue "The Sandman" comics by Neil Gaiman take that crown. Sure both comics were recognized by the "fine" literary community, but I think "The Sandman" did more to truly transcend concieved notions of comic book story telling. Just my 2 cents :PII_Seraphim_IIWatchmen is regarded as a single "novel" in a way that Sandman is not; it made Time's list of the 100 best novels of the 20th Century. Sandman is certainly excellent, but utterly different in many ways.

The squid isn't in the film. Snyder, himself, has confirmed it.
I don't like how they refer to themselves as "watchmen", it's dumbed down and takes away from the mystique of the title.
Slow motion overkill.
"Jon thinks there's going to be nuclear war." - Manhattan never warns of impending nuclear war.
Capt. Metropolis isn't at the Crimebusters meeting, Ozy leads the meeting... why?
From the trailers, you would think it was a "supergroup" superhero movie instead of a noirish R rated film.
I want to see Aronofsky's Watchmen in some parallel reality.
This film will be greeted warmly upon opening, but it will be torn apart in time.
I'm actually putting a lot more faith into this film now. Initially I was not really too confident given Synder's previous work, I was a touch worried he couldn;t carry the story in Watchmen. But now I am more confident. It is looking good, although I'm still not one hundred percent sure about the depth of the storyline being included... 300 seriously lacked story, although I guess I could blame that on the source material.
I guess we'll have to wait and see... either way... Preacher is guaranteed to be more awesome than this.Â
